When the world shut down over a 99.9999% survivable virus, I had to tell a few dozen rig hands they were out of a job. Then I had to tell even more frac hands. Then snubbing hands. Then I went home to wait for my layoff. Then I spent 6 months applying for jobs with no interviews because corporate America had banned White men in honor of Saint George Floyd, Patron Saint of Fentanyl. A great Twitter friend who I am indebted to forever got me a job with a 25% pay cut, and I had to work physically harder than I had in a decade. Anyway. Nobody in news media ever reached out for my story. And it wasn’t a unique story, I was one of a couple hundred thousand guys going through this.

@ggreenwald MAGA has never pretended to be morally superior. Trump is just the first politician in my 50 years of life to acknowledge that sending jobs overseas was a mistake while simultaneously importing cheap labor to compete with those losing their jobs. That's the MAGA movement.

The only reason Trump was able to lead a movement full of "social conservatives" and self-identified devout Christians -- despite his limitlessly libertine and gluttonous public life of serial adultery, overlapping marriages, hush money to a porn star with whom he had an affair while his wife was taking care of their newborn baby, very close friendship with Jeffrey Epstein, etc. -- is because he never postured as a paragon of sexual virtue. But this is now the second time Trump tried to malign Joe Kent for remarrying "quickly" after losing his wife in war (Kent re-married 4 years later) -- implying something untoward in Kent's personal life -- and when Trump of all people does that, it exposes the laughable fraud of this movement of his followers posturing as though they are morally superior to anyone.
CALL TO ACTIVISM@CalltoActivism

🚨WTF: Trump on Joe Kent: "I'm not a fan of the guy… His wife was killed. He remarried fairly quickly." Trump cheated on his 1st wife with his 2nd wife, cheated on his 2nd wife with his 3rd wife, and when pregnant, cheated with a porn star. Get real.

@ShafronTom @BitPaine Wtf, you think they are moving their property? Either they pay the tax for not living there or they sell to someone who will live there and pay sales tax on goods and services or pay a tax for not living there.

So taxing vacant, expensive property is actually a very good tax, and as much as I loathe Mamdani, this is not a bad idea. The logic is this: buying large properties and NOT LIVING IN THEM imposes externalities on other citizens: The first, of course, is that it eats up demand for real estate in the city, and there’s only so much room in Manhattan. Now, of course, they should just remove rent control and make more sensible building codes, etc., to increase supply, but supply is still always going to be limited, and you want that to go to people who are going to be actually living in the places that they buy. Second and more importantly, buying up real estate that sits empty imposes a cost on every business in New York and the employees and owners of those businesses because these wealthy owners, who are not in the city, patronizing restaurants, booking taxis, going to shows, etc., are taking up real estate from people who otherwise would. That imposes a cost on all of those businesses in the form of reduced demand for their products. Those people are also not paying the city taxes (ie sales taxes) that they would otherwise pay if they were patronizing businesses in the city. If you’re going to tax properties, it makes far more sense to tax empty properties than full ones.

Happy Tax Day, New York. We’re taxing the rich.

Flat tax. Whether you make $1000 or $100 million. A fixed percentage for everybody. And that’s it. A one-page tax form. No bullshit. Everybody pays a reasonable and equitable amount. Everyone - from the wealthiest to the poorest - have skin in the game.

Hes fucking 80, Jesus you people are brutal. I can see it, there isn't one single cross, prayer, words, or anything Christian related... He probably saw the white gown and thought it was a Dr's coat. I don't give a shit and I wouldn't give a shit if it was Biden or anyone else. Put it this way, if you are a Christian, Trump just converted the entire Democrat partly.. So, maybe he is Jesus??

I probably need to sign off for the day. I am disgusted beyond belief at the people who suddenly are acting pious for political reasons when they have forever vocally supported: 1. Murdering unborn children by the bushel. 2. Nuns being persecuted for adhering to the doctrines of the Catholic Church. 3. The mutilation of confused children to satisfy their parents’ Munchausen Syndrome. 4. The beatification of Barack Obama, Anthony Fauci and Robert Mueller as holy figures throughout the media. 5. Harsh criticism of any Trump Administration official who favorably mentions God or Jesus. 6. The ending of religious assembly during COVID. 7. A generalized disdain for orthodox Christian and Catholic persons and beliefs. 8. Hatred for the most orthodox, intellectual and Catholic of recent Popes, Pope Benedict. 9. Embrace of all manner of perversions enumerated specifically in the Bible as sins. 10. Silence on the murder of 30,000+ Persians by the Iranian mullahs and the violent murder and persecution of Christians in large swathes of the Muslim world. Pope Leo is using the Gospel as an excuse to meddle in purely political affairs, and politicians throughout America who hate the Gospel are using feigned faith as a political cudgel. It is disgusting beyond belief. OUT.

My best friend is 36 years old. He constantly tries to convince me that Trump is a bad person, a liar, and a net negative for America. But here’s the thing. I’m not open to having my mind changed. Regardless of whether I’m right or wrong, my beliefs are my beliefs. How can I make him accept and respect this?

People keep repeating this idea that “a laser takes 3 seconds to reach the Moon, radio is slower, so you can’t have live communication with a ship moving away from Earth.” None of that is true. Radio waves are light. Same speed. Same physics. The only difference is wavelength. The delay you get talking to a spacecraft is just the distance. That’s it. A signal to the Moon is about 1.3 seconds one way. A ship farther out has a longer delay, but it’s still real‑time communication. That’s why Apollo, Artemis, Voyager, and every deep‑space probe can talk to Earth continuously. There’s no “the signal can’t keep up” problem. There’s no magic distance where radio stops working. It’s just light traveling through space, exactly the way physics says it should. The only thing slowing people down here is bad science on the internet.
Philip Cross@jobber_phil

@ManaByte light from a laser takes 3 seconds to reach to moon, a radio wave travels slower than light so a ship moving away from the earth isn`t capable of transmitting live in real time, and the further the ship goes from the earth the greater the problem will be until it returns.

@PoliticalStacy Mass mail-in voting is just a scam Democrats use to print up a zillion untraceable extra ballots so they can create however many fraudulent votes they need to steal elections. Nationally, there are probably only 3-4 Democrats in office who won their elections legitimately.

The number of retard liberals who don’t understand the difference between absentee voting and the mass mail-out of ballots is staggering in its retardation. Let me break it down for the obvious head injury victims out there. Absentee voting: You actually have to request a ballot like a normal adult, usually with a legitimate reason (sick, traveling, whatever). It’s the old, sane way. Mail-in voting: They just mass-mail ballots to every name on the bloated voter rolls — dead people, movers, duplicates, illegals, you name it — no request, no excuse, no accountability. It’s the lazy Democrat cheat method that floods the system with unsecured paper and turns elections into a joke. Both involve mailing ballots, but one makes you prove you want to vote. The other treats voting like junk mail. That’s why ‘mass mail-out’ sounds shady as hell — because it is.

So if I break into someone’s house when I’m pregnant, and deliver the kid there, I now get to stay in their house forever, and they have to pay for my daily expenses. If I have it in a store, I live there forever on their dime This is how stupid this birthright citizenship case is.
