@Tesla Yes! My model Y tapped into another car in a parking lot going about 2 mph and it was only $8k to repair at the Tesla authorized place!

@SawyerMerritt Are you applying the same principal in pricing to the sub 30k car? Because I haven’t seen that yet.

@lucagrecoita A low impact accident in a parking lot while my Tesla was parked, cost over 8,000.00 to repair the bumper, and took 2 weeks… the only thing it does is speed up repairs it seems, while doubling the cost...

A 2-year study just proved Gigacasting repairs can cost LESS than traditional bodies 💡 Thatcham Research conducted a rigorous study on Tesla Model Y repairability. At 15 km/h impacts: Crash cans absorbed energy. Gigacasting sustained zero damage. Standard repair. At 25 km/h impacts: Casting cracked. Full replacement required. The replacement casting costs just £716. Total repair bill? Comparable to - sometimes cheaper than - traditional steel structures. The data: -> Model Y partial repairs: £2,167 CHEAPER than Model 3 repairs -> Model 3 uses traditional steel subframe -> The "unrepairable" casting was more economical The repair myth isn't based on evidence. It's based on 2021 assumptions the industry has solved. ❌ Don't leave your insights to chance with the LinkedIn algorithm ✅ Subscribe for free to my weekly newsletter about all things Gigacasting and magnesium Thixomolding: industryarsenal.com 📩

@Tesla_NL_TR @enhauto Do you really like that? It's not like you can do anything about pre-heating anyway. If it doesn't work, you cannot force it, so why show it at all? It's just changing my color setting for something I don't care about . Pre-heating can start up to 40 minutes before reaching SuC.

So cool 😎 When you navigate to a Supercharger and the car starts preconditioning, the front LED turns red. It’s a great way to see that it's preheating! 💪 You can do this using the Enhauto Commander. Thnx @enhauto $TSLA

@Tha_Pizza @MattStopa @brandenflasch E - false, You don’t drive the train, or the car F - these stations are pretty similar to train stations, so you aren’t going to a destination so much as a station

I’m not sure which FSD build after v14.1.7 resolved the issue where FSD would initiate a reverse maneuver even when the garage door was closed. Tonight, I did the same experiment with FSD v14.2.2.2. After pressing the “Start Self-Driving” button, the vehicle neither moved forward nor reversed. To rule out a fluke, I repeated the test several times and observed the same behavior each time.
Ray@ray4tesla

When you press “Start Self-Driving button while the garage door is closed, FSD v14.1.7 will still start reversing. Before pressing that button, make sure your garage door is open.

It’s over for me, boys. We’re screwed. My Rivian is gonna die on the street and I’m gonna have to tow it to the Service Center. 12V batteries lead acid batteries are stupid and only Tesla has a good system in place to proactively replace them before stuff goes south.

@Drive_Protected Get used to it. It never changes. My 2025 Chevy Blazer EV has no issue with preheating and maintaining speed. My Tesla, rarely hits speed for the full charge, if I get 10 mins I’m lucky.

@ElectricIsraeli @Tesla_AI Unless the car behind you was going to hit you, there was no reason for this. It didn’t save your life, it could have caused an accident. Then drives on the grass shoulder. Cuz that’s safe…

Tesla FSD saved my life last night on Interstate 95 in South Carolina. Car in front braked hard suddenly. FSD veered to the left and got back safely on the road. Thank you @Tesla_AI

@Lettuceman42069 @AlexEdgerton @ChadMoran False, Tesla has shown it is not one to allow regulation to stop them. If they wanted to have cars drive themselves without people, they would. Tesla doesn’t even allow the people who bought FSD to go unsupervised in what they describe as the best FSD and human like.

So it turns out the truth behind the SF power outage and autonomous vehicles is more nuanced than anyone thought (shocker!) Waymo went into reduced risk mode which required each intersection to be approved by operators. The queue got so big they got "stuck". Tesla continued only because they still had safety drivers in them who took over driving through the dead intersections.

@AlexEdgerton @ChadMoran Yes I have 2 EV’s (2023 and 2025) & subscribe to FSD in my Model 3 & use the Chevy Cruise system, & had a loaner HW4 FSD, & use many Rideshare services. Just because a car while you are in it will drive itself doesn’t mean it can. Summon it from across town if it drives itself.

@AlexEdgerton @ChadMoran Tesla Stan says it’s better than Waymo because the tech is better, like all the other Tesla Stan’s. Yet Tesla has no self driving car on the road without a Tesla staff member in the safety seat…

@Its_Arthur @ChadMoran I am very unbothered by how much you believe me, especially when I'm not making any claims. All I know is Teslas were not clogging the streets like Waymo, and at least one safety guy took over. The rest is guessing and BS.

@GrindeOptions The scale of growth you’re talking about. For one there is no self charging yet, so you’ll have to have a plethora of people to service those cars, and build the places where they will need to come back to and all. Not to mention regulatory approval to use…

Though some people may think that $TSLA having 100,000 robotaxis in their fleet won’t change the fundamentals of the company, it will change how the world views autonomous vehicles. A fleet of 100,000 $TSLA robotaxis earning $50,000/yr on average is $5 billion annually. What the service allows is more people to try out a service they can personally own themselves. Tesla FSD will go from 12% adoption rate to well above 40% (peak 60%) once more people have a chance to try it out and once the AI5 Chip is installed offering a safety level exponentially greater than a human. Tesla has already solved real world full self driving.

Winter Supercharging on Cybertruck is atrocious. Two days in a row, I’ve driven to the same v3.5 Supercharger after preconditioning for a similar 25min drive. 25 minutes is not enough in this weather (40 degrees today! Not even cold!). This maxes out my charge rate early as the pack warms. The battery is so big on Cybertruck, it takes TIME to fully warm a cold pack. (or the programmed heater input is conservative) It appears to add 5-10 minutes to my charging session, or 25% more time. This isn’t exactly an issue with road tripping, but for in town urban/suburban driving, this is a factor to why Superchargers get backed up in cold weather (cold packs + increased consumption)

@SawyerMerritt I drive a Legacy EV, they’ve figured it out much better than Tesla has. And the cars feel comfortable. Just because you say it’s something doesn’t make it the truth.

Legacy automakers are in a very precarious position right now. They haven't yet figured out how to make compelling EVs profitably, so now many of them are starting to fall back on the gas products that do make them money, but this will put them even further behind in the future, which also means they will likely underinvest in self-driving capabilities and the best product for that (EVs). Ford is working on its "Universal EV Platform" designed to reduce costs, with the first vehicle with that aiming for a 2027 release, but it remains to be seen whether that plan will live up to its promise. I think we’re going to see a lot of consolidation across the legacy auto industry over the next few years. Many of these companies will struggle to catch up in self-driving because they spent years dragging their feet. At this point, self-driving is largely a software problem, and software is where most legacy automakers are weakest. Many still struggle with basic in-car UI and software updates, let alone building and iterating on full self-driving systems at scale (pretty much non-existent for them).

@AlexEdgerton @ChadMoran Maybe if all you Tesla Stans didn’t over sell the technology all the time, and tell everyone how it’s perfect yet still makes mistakes, and how Tesla has made the best software but the wipers barely work correctly. Maybe people would believe what you all say… Maybe.

This is all based on one video from Reddit where one supervisor took over for unknown reasons during the outage. You are extrapolating that all FSD cars would have failed. I would take over preemptively myself, and maybe they were instructed to do so in case of emergency, which this was.
