Having long been skeptical of FSD’s real-world capabilities, this Chinese auto influencer changed his tune after experiencing it firsthand. With 1.5 million followers, here’s what he had to say: “I just spent half an hour using Tesla Model X self-driving. And to be clear, this wasn’t some basic driver-assist feature. Honestly, it was incredibly impressive. I used to think the videos from U.S. media or Tesla owners were exaggerated or selectively filmed, but after experiencing it myself today, I’m fully convinced. “I’m not posting the video, though—my hands weren’t on the steering wheel, and it would probably get flagged or restricted anyway.”

Reporting using the pop-up screen is much easier than using voice input. Love this new feature.

Is this coming to HW3 FSD? IDK if my reports are actually being submitted or read! Tar snakes have been a recurring nightmare for me personally. I wonder if the original sonar on HW3 vehicles could be boosted (> 12') beyond the front bumper and could tell if there is an actual obstruction far enough ahead, to simply verify that a stain on the road won't spell the automobile's doom?

@mjreddyMD @SaniAminuMuham4 With v14.3.2, you can immediately reengage FSD and the pop-up message still stays there.

@ray4tesla @SaniAminuMuham4 By definition it shows up when FSD is disengaged. And it hides view of the navigation- something someone may need when they takeover. Good idea, poor implementation.

@SaniAminuMuham4 Why risky? You only pick the option while FSD is engaged. It’s a quick glance and touch.

@ray4tesla Don't you think it is risky looking at the screen while driving? I think the voice is way perfect when driving because u could easily keep ur eyes on the road. Safety is key you know.

@Teslabundan93v @nickwakenc Yeah. He is ignorant of the fact that Tesla sold close to 50k more BEVs in Q1 than BYD.

I am going to China next week for a dungeon mode workshop with our local team. Unlike Elon, I cannot hold this mode sustainably so it will be only for a couple of weeks. But I should be able to test XPeng VLA2.0. I plan to rent a vehicle for a full day. I'll keep you posted!

@ray4tesla Wrong reading ... this is an admission that unsup fsd is DEAD. What this means is that we will need supervisors for ever.

The moats that protect Tesla’s FSD: the only true vision-only autonomous system in the world, the largest verified dataset, the biggest training cluster, bit-exact inference in the loop, the best simulation system, and a massive supervised user base that continues to generate high-quality data every single day. Thanks @nymbusjp for the great write-up.

Chinese influencer Da Hu flew to Korea to test FSD v14, since it’s not yet available in China. He shared this clip showing FSD navigating a narrow country road and stopping at a T-intersection where the view to the left was blocked by a parked truck. FSD patiently waited until the second approaching vehicle completed its right turn and the road was fully clear before making a left turn. Even more impressively, before reaching the intersection, FSD had already detected the two vehicles from a distance and appeared to anticipate whether they would turn right or continue straight—even though, from the point where the Tesla stopped, those vehicles temporarily disappeared from view behind the truck. The system handled the scenario exceptionally well, showcasing strong real-world inference and prediction capabilities that left the influencer highly impressed.
