Lower Manhattan will be car-free tomorrow morning for the Knicks Championship Parade. Starting at 7AM, south of Canal Street in Manhattan is shut down to vehicular traffic. The FDR and West Side Highway will remain open. Traffic coming off the Brooklyn Bridge into Manhattan will only be able to go northbound on the FDR. Plan ahead and use public transportation.

@jmontforttx it doesn't really make sense that a lighter base color would raise the water temp. Seems that it would make the water cooler, not hotter. Is this point just made up?

The reflecting pool is now green, the color of all the money wasted on it. Painting the bottom has apparently heated the water and accelerated algae growth. Pure Genius. people.com/reflecting-poo…

What a loser Hochul is. During the Championship Playoffs it was announced that Texas ranks #1 for Fortune 500 HQs. A title once held by NY. Unlike the Knicks title, Texas’s lead over New York in business and new jobs will continue… forever.

Few better ways to celebrate this city — and the World Cup — than cheap eats. That's why starting June 11th through July 19th, New Yorkers can celebrate the World Cup with $26 meal deals at hundreds of restaurants across the five boroughs — from Little Caribbean in Flatbush to not one, but two Koreatowns. Bring fellow fans or team rivals and discover what makes New York City the world's city.

Big banks denied entire communities the opportunity to buy homes, start small businesses, and build financial security right here in our City for generations. In response, Ponce Bank was founded in the 1960's to give Puerto Rican New Yorkers the opportunity to build wealth. Today, alongside @NYCComptroller and @nycfinance, we announced that we are depositing $20 million into Ponce Bank branches in Inwood and the Bronx to directly increase access to capital for working people. Government should invest directly into people and neighborhoods. So that’s exactly what we’re doing.

Soccer would not exist without immigrants. Immigrants play and coach the game, work in the stadiums, fill the stands, and make celebrations like the World Cup possible. Six of the players on the US Men's National Team are immigrants. We will not allow ICE or anyone else to sow fear in our communities — especially at this moment. As the world comes to our city, we will stand proudly with our immigrant neighbors and reject these attacks for what they are: an attempt to divide us.

@deptulahasrage You better look at the video again dude. That OG called was initially correct. The defender hit the ball before he hit his hand. It's very obvious. Knick's got lucky with that call.

The NBA so badly wants Wembanyama to be the story that they allowed an absolute mugging of Brunson, saddled Knicks stars with fouls, called back-to-back ridiculous fouls on the guy who was killing Wemby allowing VW to get game traction, didn't allow the Knicks a SINGLE second half FT until the Knicks forced their hands on an obvious foul call vs Anunoby by challenging with 2 mins left, and it still all failed.

Entering month 6 of the Mamdani mayorship of NYC and Robberies are down 11%, Retail theft is down 19%, and Murder is down an astounding 21%. And he did so without "Adding 5000 new cops" to the streets. Instead, he's invested in public safety with free childcare, accessible infrastructure, and better funded schools and libraries. He's proven once again that if we want safer communities, we must invest in People—not Punishments.

@Chicago_Goofies @SubxNews We were fed a lie that a large number of ppl use or will use a bike for transportation, so we should make it accessible… A shockingly tiny % of the population ever will. Yet we’re wrecking transportation for the 99%. If this were for 1% of elites there’d justifiably be protests.

@NYCMayor Simple- Amazon charge New York cumulative shipping charges for what they charge you. New Yorkers order the stuff. Just factor in the “fine” or don’t deliver or sell there at all.

Amazon is worth $2 trillion. But it didn't deign to pay the millions of dollars it racked up in unpaid fines as its’ trucks illegally polluted our air and forced New Yorkers to breathe in their exhaust.
We collected every dollar they owe the people of this city — and will continue to hold them accountable. In New York, corporations are held to the same standard as everyone else.
No company — no matter how large or powerful — is above the law.

@GOuellette53729 @thetesian @MeidasTouch I think he played a pretty large role in balancing the budget. Do you think differently? Do you think this deal with the State government gets done without him? Of course he didn't do it without other govt agencies, but that's not realistic. It's OK to give him a little credit.

NEW: NYC Mayor Zohran Mamdani unveiled a budget that closes a $12 billion inherited deficit with no property tax increase and no major service cuts, while adding a first-ever pied-à-terre tax on luxury second homes worth over $5 million. The plan includes record investments in NYCHA, affordable housing, universal child care, libraries, parks, schools, hate crime prevention, tenant legal services, and new municipal grocery stores.
