I used to see two movies a week in a theatre. Minimum. Dates. With friends. Alone, if I was just interested in the film. I was younger and had more time, obviously. But I honestly cannot recall the last movie I saw in a theatre.

Their books were taught in all high schools, middle schools, and many teachers and profs have withdrawn from teaching them, or if taught, appropriation is the topic.

Rewatching a lesser-known Howard Hawks film, The Criminal Code. What’s most impressive is how, in 1930, when motion pictures stopped moving, Hawks managed to turn a stage play into something highly cinematic. Also, a very impressive early, pre-Frankenstein, Karloff.
