I give Geordin a pass on this. Denouncing Republicans — not just Trump — is the price of entry into mainstream South African (and most European) politics. Never mind that Trump is pushing for what the DA stands for (or what it should stand for, and once did): e.g. non-racialism.

South Africa’s ANC government is pushing even more racist rules that help only black people and shut out everyone else: • They’re giving R50 billion (from a big foreign loan) to a new “Transformation Fund”, but the money can ONLY go to black-owned and black-managed businesses. Whites, Indians, Coloureds and Asians are completely banned just because of their race. • Companies can now simply pay cash into a giant R100 billion fund to “buy” their Black Empowerment points. The money still only helps black entrepreneurs , no real ownership or merit needed. • Employment Equity laws force strict racial hiring quotas on every company. You must hit race targets for who you hire and promote, or face huge fines. • BEE rules punish businesses unless they give ownership, top jobs and supplier deals based purely on race. • Government contracts and tenders strongly prefer black-owned companies, better or cheaper non-black businesses lose out automatically. This is straight-up government racism. @elonmusk was right, the ANC’s racist anti-merit agenda is destroying South Africa.

UPDATE via @DasenThathiah An update on the police investigation after the viral video of a woman carried by two men. 1. The incident took place on Saturday night in Broad Street, Durban.  2. It was between a couple - an argument first broke out at a nearby flat and continued into the vehicle seen in the video.  3. There were two women and two men in the car. The female being carried had jumped out of the moving vehicle.  4. She was highly intoxicated.  5. She was taken to Addington Hospital, where she was treated for minor injuries and discharged. This was confirmed by staff at the hospital.  6. The owner of the vehicle was traced by police to Victoria Street, where he lives. He is a Nigerian national and the woman’s boyfriend.  7. The woman was located at a shop she owns in Russell Street, Durban. She is a South African citizen from Pietermaritzburg. 8. She was interviewed by police and declined any further assistance.  @eNCA
