@RepMarkPocan @AOC If your drivers license is compliant with the real ID act, there is no reason under the sun why it would not be sufficient

There seems to be some confusion about the SAVE America Act. If it becomes law, you will NOT be able to vote with your drivers license alone. You’d need: 1. A passport, which more than half of Americans don’t have and costs at least $130 OR 2. A birth certificate PLUS your photo ID with matching names, which nearly 70 million married women lack OR 3. Military services papers (not a military ID alone) with sensitive info. I’m voting NO.

I do not feel the need to respond to every inflammatory statement made by the White House. However, the release of racist images of former President Barack and First Lady Michelle Obama is offensive, heart breaking, and unacceptable. President Trump should apologize.

$496 MILLION of your taxpayer dollars. That’s what the Trump Administration spent deploying troops INSIDE the United States. Nearly half a billion dollars — not for disaster relief, not for health care, not to lower costs — but for legally questionable political deployments. The American people don’t have $496 million to waste. While Americans stretch every dollar, this Administration is lighting taxpayer money on fire. washingtonpost.com/politics/2026/…

Yeah, what happened to that transparency initiative? That lasted like a couple hours.

Hey @elonmusk can we get little country flags next to usernames on X? I just want a heads up when I’m reading a lecture on the U.S. Constitution from someone whose country banned butter knives.

@kerrilovescats @GuntherEagleman Not outright. Certain issues have been removed from being subject to filibuster, like federal nomination, but the filibuster itself has never been revoked.

I don’t get it. Our GOP has the majority in the House and Senate, and a President with a pen in his hand ready to go. Yet, Congress refuses to stop the fraud or pass basic election laws.

@Coronaismyname @justinamash Precisely. Although there is no federal law on the matter, the Federal government imposed its will on the States through funding. That can be applied to just about any other situation.

No, the Supremacy Clause does not mean, without qualification, that federal law trumps state or local law. The Supremacy Clause means federal law trumps state or local law on those matters in which the federal government has jurisdiction. While the federal government has power over immigration enforcement, it does not have jurisdiction to command the actions of state or local officials—to force them to enforce federal programs, carry out federal duties, or cooperate against their will. Therefore, the Supremacy Clause does not authorize or legitimize such commands. Any attempt by federal officials to command the actions of state or local officials is unconstitutional commandeering under the Tenth Amendment.

@EjLizard @GuntherEagleman Actually, the Senate "was designed" to be the voice of the States in the law making process. It was also "designed" to be the place where bad legislation goes to die. Neither of those things are true today.

@MSG35Z @GuntherEagleman Maybe not completely ignore the other side? The Senate is designed to force both parties to work together to some extent but the GOP is too hung up on ideology and ignores governance.

@FPWellman ICE operations are happening in every single state. There are only issues in 9 counties nationwide. Hardly seems like the problem is ICE.

I served for 22-years in the Army. I did four combat tours across Desert Storm and Iraq. Hearing this brutish fool refer to the streets of the United States being “in theater” like it’s a combat deployment and not protecting and serving the public is disgusting. This is a war zone because these masked agents, armed to the teeth, scooping up moms and toddlers in the school pick up line made it a combat zone…period. This is their failure. Congress needs to do their damn jobs.
Aaron Rupar@atrupar

Q: Can you be specific about how many ICE and Border Patrol agents are currently operating in the state? HOMAN: 3,000. There's been some rotations. They've been in theater a long time. Day after day, can't eat in restaurants, people spin on you, blowing whistles at you. But my main focus now is draw down
