Shoutout Collin Gillespie. Best guard out of Philly in a while. Some will have revisionist history but he was on the 'B' Philly AAU teams. Had to scratch and claw for Nova to offer him late. All he did was cook kids who were more highly regarded. Truly got it out the mud!

As a short arm guy this is why I’m worried about Bain at the next level. His first point of contact is his head. Your head should never strike an offensive lineman first in the run or pass. Separation is king.

@arodgers_3 Brake/plant/separation step or wide base crossover out of it. The fast feet replace, like you see in the video, is the least efficient way to get out of any type of break or change direction.

I Feel like it varies by the player as far as steps out of breaks. But it’s either 3 or 4 with curls. Anything more is wasted movement and a good DB is driving. I feel like teaching 4 is the best way to teach in order to get consistent results overall. Break on inside foot

@JamieDixon_FIT When I played in the PSAC there were 4 dudes from the conference who would become long-term NFL starters & a Harlon Hill Trophy winner.

I played Division II ball. All-American. All-Decade. I played with guys who transferred from D1 schools and they all said the same thing — the talent is better than why they thought it would be. So when I see kids say, “I’ll go D2, get some film, then transfer up to D1…” I just laugh. Division II isn’t JV, it’s not JUCO. To think you’ll make a pitstop there and dip is crazy. Upper-tier D2 is full of grown men. 22–23 years old (now a days probably older). Four to five years deep in real strength programs. Strong. Fast. Violent. Many of them were D1 talent who were late bloomers, undersized at 17, or just overlooked. The gap between high-level D2 and lower-level D1? Razor thin. Sometimes nonexistent. When I was coaching at UL I was shocked at how terrible some schools we played were (NMSU, TXState, etc). Not all that glitters is gold.
