@Hungoverdaily_ @MarineMountie @TomMarsLaw @jlkurtz What rule has Texas Tech broken? You can’t answer that because they haven’t! They are abiding by a court order that he’s eligible to participate (and play) should they decide he’s capable. So, if they don’t abide by that, they are then breaking the law. Not har to understand.

@MarcSDunham @MarineMountie @TomMarsLaw @jlkurtz Except in the B12 bylaws, it specifically states that they have to abide by NCAA rules. One of those rules is you cannot place ANY bets, especially on your own team. Sorsby made almost 3,000 bets, including on and against his own team. There’s the wrongdoing lmao

If the Texas AG is really serious about suing the Big 12 for violating the federal antitrust laws, he’s not going to be able to litigate that claim before a state court judge. As a matter of law, that case would have to be litigated in a federal district court.

The Texas Attorney General sent a formal letter to the Big 12 today alerting the conference that Texas Tech would take action against any league sanction.

@CMTX281 He broke the cardinal rule in all of sports. A rule others lost all college eligibility. Thinking Sorsby’s is somehow different is idiotic.

It’s extremely rare if not totally unprecedented for virtually everyone in college sports to agree on anything, but excluding Texas Tech, it’s happening now with Sorsby. However, in fairness to the Texas Tech fans, I really wonder how many other fans bases would also fight tooth and nail to try and justify that an admitted gambling addict athlete, who bet on his team, should get a slap on the wrist and a pat on the butt after a two game suspension.

@On3 @AndyStaples This is stupid. Nobody asked for what TTU is doing right now. Few complained about their investment in their FB team. EVERYONE knows this current situation crosses the line and defending it is a joke.

NEW: Texas Tech gave commissioner Brett Yormark exactly what he asked for — a Big 12 team that separates from the pack🌵 Now, several Big 12 programs are calling for the conference to take action against the Red Raiders. (via @AndyStaples) Story: on3.com/news/commissio…

@On3 @AndyStaples Well, those other teams have a reason to want to sanction TT - it’s called breaking the rules for your own advantage. Should they just go along because TT has supposedly “done so much” for the league? Give me a break.

Texas Tech Makes Hypocritical Case for Brendan Sorsby’s Eligibility (hint: Tech and many others could have changed a rule for gambling on pro sports and voted not to do so. Read below): hoopshq.com/ncaa/texas-tec…

Big 12 ADs have every reason to be furious about the Brendan Sorsby ruling. I absolutely hate it too. But there's one big reason sanctioning Texas Tech is a fight the league shouldn't pick. (Link in replies)

As Big 12 presidents consider sanctions, Texas Tech reps notified the league that any penalty will be met with legal action, sources tell @YahooSports. Tech is exploring legal avenues with noted attorney Jeff Kessler, including seeking a second injunction bit.ly/4v1ghqC

@Buckeye_GDG It surprises me how openly they're burning bridges with the Big Ten and the SEC. To me this doesn't feel like they've chewed down what this is really about and the consequences they may face in the future for doing it.

*senator, not governor Which doesn't change anything about what I said. The point is Campbell is giving lots of money to a guy who is now trying to weaponize the state to serve Tech's interests The office Paxton is running for doesn't change how shady it is

Ken Paxton, current Texas AG and Republican nominee for governor, is threatening the Big 12 with legal action if they hold Texas Tech accountable TT mega booster Cody Campbell has also donated $30k to Paxton's campaign. Just connecting the dots for y'all @Echo_Buttes
