"Each time a man stands up for an ideal, or acts to improve the lot of others, or strikes out against injustice, he sends forth a tiny ripple of hope..twitter.com/TrueUSAorg/sta… .these ripples can build a current which can sweep down the mightiest walls of oppression and resistance"
TrueUSA - #BoycottFoxAdvertisers@TrueUSAorg

SOUND UP! These are our heroes! Robert F. Kennedy's beautiful "Ripple" speech expresses our gratitude for America's heroes and gives hope in difficult times. Thank you to everyone who is standing up, getting loud, and making "good trouble!" #IntegrityMatters

@StatisticUrban I don't understand how the POTUS can get directly involved in altering these historic public spaces that are under the purview of the National Park Service. Normally, any changes must undergo a rigorous review process.

@StatisticUrban In the 1950s, Pittsburgh was in the top 4 cities for corporate headquarters in the U.S. due to the importance of the steel industry, natural resource industries like coal, and transport by water. It & the rest of PA have fallen off in the modern economy, but are still important.

To this day, even having been, I still don't really understand why Pennsylvania is the 5th most populous state. I guess it's just really old, was really important for centuries, and has a lot of demographic inertia from that era. Because modern PA is not exactly a powerhouse.

It's a good day to be alive. It also happens to be one of the best days humanity has ever had to be alive. If you're only focused on a couple of things, like say... the Red Sox or political discourse... You would miss this. But there has never been a better day to be alive than this one. Let's go.

@KrutikaKuppalli A major goal in his life was to become an NFL owner, but he was rejected multiple times in this effort by the other owners. This was reported to be due to questionable finances, alleged mob ties, personality conflicts, and his involvement with a rival league (USFL).

@AriDrennen No, since there would still be a big difference in the temperature of the drink without ice. An air conditioned room is usually not colder than 66 F, while the ice in contact with your drink is at 32 F.

@Ackilles2020 @TrentGatel82167 @unusual_whales Trump has sued the IRS for $10 billion and is now negotiating a settlement with himself. This could be the most lucrative thing he has done so far. The suit is based on an IRS contractor leaking 3 yrs of his tax returns. He had promised to release them himself.

@TrentGatel82167 @unusual_whales You should look at what else they have done now that you've woken up a bit from the cult. This is the least bad of the shit that has been happening. Trump isn't even bothering with insider trading, that is his pets. He is just sucking it straight from the treasury

BREAKING: Traders placed a series of bets worth $430 million on a drop in crude prices just 15 minutes before U.S. President Donald Trump said he would extend a ceasefire with Iran. It is the third ‌time this month, and the fourth in total, that large, well-timed directional bets on the oil price have been made shortly before major announcements on the Iran war. The traders gained millions. Unusual.

@crampell That's a great story about your father. I am sure he's very proud of you, as well. I recall the neighborhood that I first lived in when I was growing up in a liberal state (MA) was found to have restrictive covenants on the deeds, which are now illegal, thankfully.

Perhaps to no one’s surprise, Tucker Carlson just gave a full-throated defense of segregated country clubs. Out of the blue Tucker recently attacked me on his show by recounting a story I told him ~10 years ago. In his telling, my father sued a country club for not admitting him as a member. The actual story: In the ’90s, my father waged a newspaper campaign (not a lawsuit) against local country clubs because they were discriminatory – that is, they did not admit Jews, Blacks, Asians, Hispanics, etc., even as guests. My brother, who was in preschool at the time, was not invited to a classmate’s birthday party because the club where the party was held did not allow Jews inside. (Yes, even 4-year-old Jews, as guests.) That’s the fight my dad waged—at significant personal and professional cost at the time—and I’m proud of him for it. thebulwark.com/p/tucker-carls…

@JakeIggy We are just looking for competitive at-bats at this point. The bar has been lowered into the basement. For myself, I would like to see the second coming of Johnny Damon in a 10 pitch at-bat, where he fouls off a bunch of pitches and draws a walk.

@JC_ParetsX Even though the popularity may be at a low ebb, the returns are not bad if you look at popular ESG ETFs like Vanguard ESGV, it's pretty similar on a YTD, 1 year, and 5 year basis to their SPY ETF. VOO. The top five holdings are identical, although amounts vary a little.

ESG was one of the greatest Wall Street hustles of all time, convincing people who are bad at math that they could save the world by losing money in the market. I watched them do this in real time and investors actually believed. It was wild.

@bostonwriter It's probably chosen for being inoffensive and bland when compared to the more typical occurrence of the Fox News Channel being on at a lot of car dealerships. For the same reason, I have noticed that the Property Channel or Health News is often on at the doctor's office.

@SullyCNBC Hasn't your salary and the value of your house doubled in the last twenty years? If it was 10 years, you might have a point. If you compare it to the budget of most large cities or states with a stable population, it's probably not that much different.

Thanks. I get it’s an easy target - “Let’s tax the rich who don’t really live here!” - but it also distracts from another issue: where is all your tax money going? NYCs budget has basically doubled in 20 years even as the population has stayed nearly the same. Easier to just go after a few zillionaires who live in Dubai or whatever.
Randy Smoot@Randy_Smoot

@SullyCNBC great, informative segment on pied-a-terre tax in NYC!
