For writers: how evil is your villain?

i haven't had any coffee in weeks. this is because i'm an insufferable coffee snob and roast my own and i refuse to buy store-bought. but also i'm lazy and a poor poor coffeeless zombie.

@ThuanAn_writer hahaha i don't love going to the dentist 🫣 that's insightful - i'll think on this. it's always been there since i was little and i've definitely grown into an artistic fascination with teeth.

@MitchellNy Maybe go to the dentist lol joking aside repeated dream seem like your unconscious try to reach you. Anything/anyone seem always been there but you haven't check lately? The things should be vital enough but familiar enough ie teeth but get rip out of you. Not a physician tho.

has anyone ever dreamed a dream of falling teeth? i can always vividly taste the sour juice in my gums and feel the teeth dangling by a string of meat. this one visits me thrice weekly.

@MitchellNy I believe his philosophy was that when you think about your writing you inevitably start to worry about it, and worrying is (obviously) completely unproductive, a waste of emotion. It is very difficult but I’ve found that this method helps me be less paranoid about my work lol

No outline, no “drafts,” light editing. I don’t rebuild sandcastles.

@_alec_ivan_ i shall give this a try. the "don't think about the writing when i'm not writing" part sounds impossible rn which is probably why it's most important. i get burned out trying to see my stories irl

@MitchellNy What I think is important is that, if this process is overwhelming (it can be for me too), try the Hemingway method of not thinking about your work unless you’re actively writing. It sounds kind of stupid and antithetical to the process but it weirdly helps if done right.
