#NCUWM2024 day 2 kicked off with student talks and graduate school panels before our second Plenary talk from Dr. Emily Riehl (@JohnsHopkins)! We loved her talk on “Categorizing Cardinal Arithmetic”.

Meet #NCUWM2024 panelist Dr. Elizabeth Wilmer, a second-year rotating program director at the @NSF and professor of mathematics at @oberlincollege. As an undergraduate at @Harvard, she was one of the co-winners of the Alice T. Schafer prize in its first year.

Meet #NCUWM2024 invited grad panelist Shelby Stowe, a fifth-year graduate student at @coschoolofmines studying mathematical biology. Shelby attended NCUWM as an undergraduate and is looking forward to participating again as a graduate student. math.unl.edu/ncuwm

Meet #NCUWM2024 panelist Dr. Angela Robinson, a mathematician in the Computer Security Division of the @NIST. Her research focuses on all aspects of code-based cryptography in the hamming metric and privacy-enhancing cryptography. math.unl.edu/ncuwm

Meet #NCUWM2024 plenary speaker Dr. Emily Riehl professor in the Department of Mathematics at @JohnHopkins working on higher category theory and homotopy type theory. She is a contributor to the HoTTEST Summer School, n-Category Café, Spectra and nLab.

Meet #NCUWM2024 panelist Joana Perdomo, a senior systems engineer at Raytheon, an RTX business. In her free time, Joana is actively involved in STEAM outreach within the greater Los Angeles area. math.unl.edu/ncuwm

Meet #NCUWM2024 invited grad panelist Mychelle Parker, a sixth-year graduate student studying number theory at @ucsantabarbara. In her free time, she enjoys playing board games, baking, and playing with Matches (her cat)!

Meet #NCUWM2024 panelist Dr. Anisah Nu’Man, an assistant professor of mathematics at @SpelmanCollege and @UNLincoln alumna. Nu'Man's research interests lie in geometric group theory and mathematics educations, particularly approaches to alternative grading.

Meet #NCUWM2024 invited grad panelist Kirsten Morris, a third-year graduate student researching coding theory at @UNLincoln who is a Graduate Fellow for STEM Diversity (GFSD). Originally from Savannah, Kirsten loves traveling, learning about new cultures and creative endeavors.

Meet #NCUWM2024 panelist, Dr. Erin McNicholas, professor of mathematics at @willamette_u. Her research interests include algebraic combinatorics, algebraic voting theory, graph theory and cryptography.

Meet #NCUWM2024 invited grad panelist Juliette Mukangango, a fifth-year Ph.D. student in statistics at @coschoolofmines. Her research interests include robust statistics and spatial data analysis. Juliette is originally from Rwanda and enjoys traveling and lifting weights.
