Remittances are foreign aid — but a worse deal for America than actual foreign aid. With actual foreign aid: 1. Congress sends taxpayer money to a foreign nation 2. Americans keep their jobs 3. Americans face no added housing demand or rent pressure 4. Americans can afford to get married and raise kids 5.America stays a high-trust society 6. Less waiting time for doctors appointments With remittances: 1. Money is still sent to foreign nations — hundreds of billions per year, eqauling official aid budgets 2. Americans are displaced from the labor force, and wages are bid down in the jobs that remain 3. Housing demand surges in working-class neighborhoods, pricing out the people who live there 4. Family formation gets harder as wages fall and housing costs rise 5. Social trust erodes as communities churn 6. Long wait-time for doctor appointments Foreign aid at least sends only money abroad. Migration-for-remittance sends the money abroad and imports the labor competition. Remittane is a foreign aid where Americans pay higher price than actual foreign aid.

Y’all, I have to share something my son told me yesterday. He’s 15 and he is taking driving lessons. His instructor yesterday (a based, older White gentleman) was quite chatty. He told my son that the WORST DRIVERS ON THE ROAD ARE INDIAN WOMEN. And then he added how ironic it is that many of them work at the DMV (This is true). I think it’s fantastic that people are starting to talk about this issue openly. People have had enough immigration and want all these third worlders sent back!

This Assistant professor claims MAG7 filing a large chunk of H-1B is a proof that America has a tech labor shortage. MAG7 prefers H-1B because employers control the visa and with H-1B you get young-age employees. Young age means lower insurance costs and no families. It is easy to crack open your labor shortage narrative. Every H-1B who files GC has to do something called the PERM labor market test. The test is to prove no qualified American exists for the H-1B by posting job ads and conducting interviews. Every employer legally cheats the process by posting job ads in newspapers and asking for mail-in resumes. Why cant they post job ads in company website and accept electronic resume? If there is a labor shortage, why do they have to hide job postings from Americans? Does it not violate the narrative? Follow @JobsNowPR where he posts all hidden job ads curated from newspapers. @ProAmericanDesi If there's no labor shortage, why are the MAG7 sponsoring H1Bs? The largest slice of H1Bs go to MAG7 companies (Microsoft, Amazon, Google, Meta, etc), not IT outsourcing companies. Check the last two years data.

We know from DOJ vs Facebook 2020, these companies find 30x more highly qualified local engineers than they can hire. They deliberately hide the Perm job ads and accept only snail mail paper resumes, sent to a lawyer's office. They protect lesser qualified H-1b workers from actually having to compete for their job against better qualified locals (Facebook HR talking to Federal Agents). Because an indentured workers that can never say "No" is worth committing fraud and risking a perjury charge.

One of my biggest realisations in China: reverse migration is real. Met an old friend in Shanghai-Ivy League, ex-FAANG-who just moved back with his family. Beyond the high-tech jobs, his real reasons were cleaner air, world class infrastructure, and top education for his kids. If India cracks these 3, we’ll see far more Indians coming home too and building for India.
