The safety of nuclear waste doesn’t depend on future humans correctly interpreting a message. It depends on engineered containment that works whether anyone is around to read a warning or not. The whole “10,000 years” narrative is exaggerated here….Yes, some nuclear waste stays radioactive for a very long time but it doesn’t stay equally dangerous that whole time. The highest risk is in the first few hundred years and after that the radioactivity drops off pretty significantly. So acting like it’s this constant extreme danger for “10,000 years” just isn’t accurate. Also, the idea that we need to somehow warn people thousands of years in the future kind of misses the point. The safety of nuclear waste isn’t based on future humans understanding a message. The whole point is that even if nobody can read a warning or even knows it’s there, it’s still physically out of reach. So this argument OP is trying to make isn’t fair, they’re assuming we’re relying on communication to keep people safe, when really the system is designed so we don’t have to. ☢️💗

The world gets better from people who are passionate and exacting about their niche. Some of the niches are about preparing coffee, Excel formatting, or killing plants. Others are about saving lives.

When Red says “zero,” Brock picks only TWO Pokémon. • The Levels: The first Gym Leader’s Pokémon are around Lv 12-15. The eighth is only Lv 45-50. You’re telling me one of the region’s strongest trainers only has mid-40s Pokémon… when the Elite Four is sitting at Lv 60+? • Larry: In Scarlet/Violet, Larry is BOTH a Gym Leader and an Elite Four member. As a Gym Leader he uses a pathetically weak Normal-type team. At the Elite Four he switches to a high-level Flying-type team. Same man. Two completely different power levels depending on his shift for the day. The game literally shows you he’s holding back. • The Confession: In Black 2 & White 2, Cheren (the first Gym Leader) straight-up says the Gym Leader job is tough because “If I had my usual partners…” - admitting he can’t use his real competitive team against new trainers. • The System: They stand in a building waiting for kids to walk in, use mono-type teams that are easy to counter. • The Real Challenge: Notice the Champion is the only fight with a full balanced multi-type team. Everything before that was staged. Every badge you earned was handed to you. The system was designed so you’d pass. You weren’t being tested - you were being trained. Does this change how you see every Gym battle?

Spotted in my hometown’s kosher bagel shop. This is the kosher equivalent of Whole Foods adding an allergy warning on hard-boiled eggs saying that it “contains eggs.”

@karavas @Sosowski @codetaur and if the shutter is too fast, closer to 50-60 hz than 25-30, you'll also get only one half of the interlaced lines. [this doesn't show up when filming older game consoles since they used 240p signal instead]

@karavas @Sosowski @codetaur there is also an unrelated artifact, called "rolling bar", that appears when you film a TV with a camera - it's a bright or dark line or horizontal section [can be any width depending on the shutter speed, and moves up or down if camera fps isn't an exact multiple of the CRT's]

my CRT shader has a mode that simulates a beam scanning, and a mode that refreshes the entire frame at once.
