*Some* renewables are cheap but the most recent contracts signed for wind farms are *more expensive* than gas. Those prices are index-linked and guaranteed for years. That doesn't mean renewables are *bad* but they are not "cheap".

I have never earned £300k, but I imagine a national £300k annual wage cap would lead a lot of well paid city folk to leave for Frankfurt or NY, massively reducing UK tax revenues and requiring austerity. Bad idea @meadwaj !

The tax on the way out is not as effective as you think becuase just the talk of a party doing this that have a chance of winning means the plan is already in place to move the assets.
