6 American Air Force soldiers crashed in Kuwait and safely ejected after a “friendly fire incident.” Kuwait mistook 3 US planes for Iranian aircraft. The pilots safety ejected and were assisted by locals. Kuwait put out a statement saying that the pilots in stable condition. Of note — one of our pilots is a female and appears to be safe. The 6 soldiers are still in Kuwait.

We've been reviewing all of today's model data and are ready with an update on the weekend storm potential... Most models for a few days now have consistently shown a storm, potentially a big one, developing off the Southeast or Mid-Atlantic coast this weekend. Yesterday we told you that the balance of model data tended to favor the storm missing the D.C. area to the south and east, with a better chance of hitting or clipping the Eastern Shore. But that things could change with a few relatively small shifts in the overall atmospheric weather pattern. The update for today is that the most reliable model data continues to keep the storm too far south and east for snow in the D.C. area. However, it’s still close enough that we are not yet a lock for no snow, and snow odds remain a little higher for the Eastern Shore. In fact, the latest run of the American (GFS) model brought the storm close enough to give the D.C. region several or more inches of snow late Saturday into Sunday, but at this time range that model has been wrong more often than not with the track of storm systems this winter. So where we stand is that, if anything, the chance of snow here has decreased a bit since yesterday (which was already not too high of a chance) given that we’re one day closer and most models still push the storm off to our south and east. To illustrate, the European model gives most of the D.C. area a less than 10 percent chance of at least 1 inch of snow this weekend (see image below). Still, this is only Tuesday and we’re talking about Saturday-Sunday. That’s far enough way, and with just enough model data keeping the storm close, that we can’t yet write it off completely.

This morning, I was informed by law enforcement entities throughout New York of multiple bomb threats that were made at my offices in Rochester, Binghamton, and Long Island with the email subject line “MAGA” and from an email address alleging the “2020 election was rigged.” Local and federal law enforcement responded immediately and are conducting full security sweeps. Everyone is safe, and I am grateful for their quick and professional response to ensure these offices remain safe and secure for all New Yorkers. As I have said many times, these kinds of violent threats have absolutely no place in our political system.
