Fashion industry in India is actually quite progressive and do employ models of a wide skin tone range. Top Indian supermodels currently have the same skin tone as the average Indian.
It's Indian film industries that are regressively colorist.

Some version of this is a very, very common opinion among the sort of practical-minded middle class Canadians who vote Conservative. But it’s a deeply forbidden thought within Canadian officialdom, including within the Conservative Party itself.

@KashPrime Canada is a diverse, multicultural nation in which the vast majority of citizens cannot speak French. It is unrealistic to expect Canada to be a meritocratic society and also a society in which absolutely every elite person is fluently bilingual.

STAR TREK: The great tragedy of Discovery is knowing that this single character could've carried the entire show through several seasons at least.
If he were an "evil" Picard but extraordinarily sly about it, where the audience knew he was a malevolent actor but the crew being wholly unawares.
And that going on for years as we watch his schemes unfold and see that he's both ruthlessly competent but fiercely devoted to humanity. A kind of In the Pale Moonlight as a series long arc.
It'd be difficult to pull off and it's clear none of the Discovery writers had the chops... but I'm telling you a seed was there.

The federal constitution only requires that states “have a republican form of government” what exactly that means is largely up for interpretation. The fact that 49 states have decided on near carbon copy bicameralism is sad

How is all of Indian society raised to be so devoid of empathy? Not a kind cell in their body for the oppressed, no sense of justice. How have generations after generations of parents succeeded in instilling oppressor mentality in each of us, the anomalies being so rare.
