My regular reminder that although I despise Roman Abramovic for multiple reasons, the government of the UK are responsible for the wrecking of @ChelseaFC Their theft, for nakedly political reasons, of the football club has destroyed it

Within the framework of education reform, Zimbabwe should consider reinstating the former Junior Certificate (JC) at Form 2 as a formal entry point into vocational training pathways. This would introduce practical, skills-based learning at an earlier stage, fostering the timely development of artisanship and technical competence.
Not all pupils need to proceed through an extended academic track culminating in GCSE O Level. A more differentiated system would allow those with strong academic performance to advance to Forms 3 and 4, while others are purposefully redirected into vocational streams aligned with industry needs.
Reducing the number of students progressing to Forms 3 and 4 would improve the teacher–student ratio and enhance the overall quality of education at that level. More importantly, it would enable the reallocation of education budget resources towards vocational training and the improvement of teachers’ working conditions.
Historically, Zimbabwe’s industrial base, particularly during the Rhodesian era, drew significantly from individuals educated up to Form 2, many of whom progressed into skilled trades, technical roles, and administrative positions. Reintroducing a structured grading threshold at this stage would enable a more efficient allocation of human capital, balancing academic progression with technical training.
Ultimately, an overemphasis on academic qualifications at the expense of practical skills risks undermining national development. Nyaya dzekutandanisa ma degree hadzivake nyika.

Bangladesh national team cricketers have expressed support for the government’s decision on the World Cup issue, stating they will stand by whatever decision the government and BCB take considering the current situation.
Meanwhile, if Bangladesh eventually withdraws from the World Cup, BCB plans to organize a domestic T20 tournament instead, with player payments likely close to the potential World Cup prize money.
Despite possible financial losses, the government and BCB believe national security and dignity matter more than money.
