I've been trying to get financial assistance for having to pay to remove a couple trees that were damaged during the ice storm in Nashville 2026 as they were about to fall on my home. FEMA sent money to Nashville and all these NGOs got the money. I applied for assistance as I was instructed. I still get calls asking if I need help removing trees from these NGOs. I explained I had to pay to remove them in January! Over and over again they call trying to justify their existence. I had to stay the night in a hotel for fear of the tree at the front crashing through my home until a tree service could get out the next morning. Bottom line, the NGO will send someone in June to take down trees that fell in January but won't help with the cost of taking the trees down or the cost of staying in a hotel for the night to be safe. I thought this was what the FEMA money was for. Instead, it appears to me that Nashville mayor or council pocketed the money and used it for their own infrastructure, rather than helping those that were in need. So once again @NESpower - we have power flickers in our house on a weeknight w/no storms, no cause - but you know it has to hurt our appliances. We’ve spent a lot for backup power supplies just to protect from these flickers. You could at least tell us why it happens. Thank you.

Just tried to order something from WalMart. Paid and it tells me half will be shipped and they'll hold the rest for four days to be picked up at the store.😾 If I could get to the darn store I wouldn't be having it shipped. 😾

@PepperConch I’m so very sorry for your loss. When my mother in law passed away, her husband was still sad 3 months later. They tried to put him on all kinds of meds. They’d been married over 50 years. It’s terrible how the health industry tries to put a time table on normal human emotions.

I went to the doctor for autoimmune issues. She asked if I'd been 'moody' lately. Why actually, I had been. My son had just died a few months prior. She diagnosed me with clinical depression. I (gently) disagreed. "I am sad. I'm a grieving mother. My son is dead." "Well, if you're still this sad six months after a major life event, it's considered clinical depression. Excuse me? I'm supposed to just get over the death of my only son within six months? If I'm still upset after six months I'm now clinically depressed? She prescribed me medication for my 'depression.' I reminded her that I react VERY badly to SSRI's. I'm the person the black box warning is warning about. Under no circumstances am I to be prescribed an SSRI. She promised it wasn't an SSRI. Went home and my daughter googled it. It was an SSRI. If you genuinely believe that it's normal for a person to be healed by six months after the death of a child, you are a psychopath. I'm not being insulting. I mean it. You have NO comprehension of normal human emotion. And by the way, she didn't help me with the autoimmune issue.

@SThesis Once I have all the materials on hand this repair will take maybe 3 days ten a day to reset it in position

This is a small headstone with a big challenge. The key slot in the base is pretty much completely gone and the marble is very fragile. I will try a new method on the repair of the headstone key slot, I will try using West Systems 105 epoxy resin and mix it with white marble dust to create a firm putty like material to build up the marble that is missing. For the broken pieces I will epoxy them back together. All of the epoxies I am using are of common use in this type of restoration so I have pretty high confidence this repair will last many years to come. This little Girl Matilda was only 5 years old when she died in 1891. I have noticed there are a good number of younger children in this cemetery, not unusual for those times. This area was very remote and must have made life extremely difficult for folks.
