Italian bank UniCredit is winding down its business in Russia, according to Kommersant. The financial group has abandoned plans to sell its Russian UniCredit Bank and is now considering full closure, asset liquidation, staff cuts, and surrendering its banking license. Retail business in the regions has already been shut, corporate operations are being reduced, and client managers are being laid off with large payouts. The main goal is to minimize operations, capitalize profits, and exit the market. UniCredit is one of only two remaining western systemic banks in Russia alongside Raiffeisen Bank.

The interesting question people forget to ask is why do you think they have not done it yet? Or the 50 other "critical infrastructure of society" type apps and why they are not just Clauding and making it better? Lots of interesting answers when you ask that question.

Hey @British_Airways can you share API access to your backend so I can rewrite your piss poor mobile and web frontend in Claude?

Bitcoin is permissionless and pseudonymous, but shipping is not, this is how Ross Ulbricht was caught by the postal service.

Latam cancelou a perna nacional do meu voo internacional. No guiche, a atendente falou que só poderiam me alocar num voo partindo dia 17. Fiquei realmente admirado como ela foi capaz de dizer isso como se fosse algo razoável e tivesse alguma chance de aceitar.

It seems not great that AWS load balancers will talk HTTPS to backends, but cannot be configured to validate those TLS certificates.

Why I'm leaving Berlin after 8 years -Girlfriend gets regularly sexually harassed in public -Massive amounts of drug addicts all over the city -People are highly political but uninformed -Clan crime is tolerated, not combatted -Half of the city smells like urine -Endless construction sites -Crime is increasing a lot -Winter too long and cold -Nobody wants to work -Dog poo everywhere -Not cheap anymore -Streets are dirty -Grumpy people All these things are "tolerable" as a single, but once you have children everything changes. I want my children to be able to grow up in a clean and safe environment, have walkable areas, a vibrant food scene, affordable housing, strong public transport and respectful public behavior. Unfortunately something like this doesn't exist in Germany. It's not a Utopia, it exists, and I'm going there.

Hungary, in the end, chose Europe, rejected Russia, and rejected sprawling corruption. With record turnout (78% of those eligible voting), Tisza gained supermajority. Orbán’s autocratic regime, built out, step by step, over 16 years, will promptly be dismantled. Historic!
Gergely Orosz@GergelyOrosz

Today, Hungary votes. The choice is between an anti-EU, pro-Russia, pro-corruption party reigning for 16 years (Orbán’s party: Fidesz) or a pro-EU, anti-Russia, anti-corruption party (Tisza). My mail-in vote went for Tisza ❤️🤍💚 A rendszerváltásért!

While Satoshi hunting has become something of a bitcoin tradition, don't normalize this behavior. That guy stalked Adam Back for 18 months, harassed him in person, annoyed anyone ever associated with in hopes of uncovering info. That's not okay. It's creepy and weird.

Sick of the way our media in Australia tries to influence people endlessly given how it is funded, coordinated and what their agenda is. We don’t deserve democracy and I would prefer it went away.

@loftwah Wanna win elections - need to persuade people. That’s how it works. Times and again, opposition parties rise despite financial and media disadvantages.

@Slav636 It is the average and below average that concerns me. I suspect you actually read into and question the things you think about. I am not incorruptible but I will certainly figure it out and change my views when new information comes in.
