Shoot, its not even a sacrifice. You desire it! Its natural, biological, you change and think about them, and their immense love for you also teaches you more about yourself. Being a "good" father, husband, or mother, wife is the greatest happiness you'll experience. Much greater than a 6 month vacation, or executive officer promotion by 10x. You also receive the reward of not being lonely when you get older.

@MurrayHillGuy1 I’ll tell you my secret… I just really really really love being a husband and father. And although single people think they are giving up freedom for kids… what’s actually happening is you’re giving up thinking about yourself, for thinking about them. That’s the secret.

How do people in the suburbs genuinely look forward to Friday night on the couch, Saturday morning at Costco, and call that a weekend? Like you really moved out of the city just to LARP as your parents at 34?

@jason_howerton Having kids was the best thing in the world. Changes your entire perspective on life, you learn much more about yourself, and your kids love you more than anything in the world. So, do them right. Be a dad, best job in the world

I assume you asked genuinely, so I’ll answer genuinely. I live in the country, but I’m certainly part of the demographic that you might see as “boring” like this. Here’s my Friday: I wake to the shouts and giggles of two little boys. Get some hugs and some coffee, now it’s time to make money. At about 1pm my sons busted into my office and asked me if I’d take them to play golf. I said yes because I’ve built a life in which I can. When we get home, I finish work. Later, we have dinner as a family (chicken fried chicken and mashed potatoes, it was 🔥). My sons ranked their days on a scale from 1-10 like we do and they said today was a “10.” Whatever high yall city folk get from “going out,” I got it from that. Then I played basketball with my sons. We watched a little TV on the couch together. Now it’s bath time, bed time, Bible and prayers. As my oldest closed his eyes, he told me how he makes his friends pray before they eat lunch. I felt that “high” again. Kids are asleep. So now it’s time for mom and dad to do some fun things that married people do. This is my Friday night. And I’ll be absolutely WIPED by 10pm - it was a full day. And while it might sound insane to you right now, I wouldn’t trade places with any person on Earth. I have what men search for all their lives; what men would sacrifice everything to have. Some have lost it chasing the things you’re suggesting I’m missing out on. I mean this with all the love in the world. I’m not defensive. But I know with certainty, what you find rewarding will change the instant you are holding your first child in your arms. And I’m so excited for you to experience it one day. Good luck out there. Sincerely, A boring dad

Just sent this out. The US campaign against Iran has revealed one major story which people are not acknowledging. For reasons of both internal US weakness and technological development, the US is showing it has almost no chance in a war against China in the Western Pacific.

This is a severely underestimated fulcrum point in American history. During the nineties there was a great societal upheaval over mass migration. California voters, in the face of an onslaught of media demonization, acted to save their state by passing Prop 187 to end all public benefits for illegals. It was one of the most potent examples of popular democracy defeating entrenched corruption. It captivated the attention of the entire nation. Millions and millions of Californians voted to recapture their destiny. The proposition passed in a landslide. It was enjoined by a District Court judge IMMEDIATELY and remained enjoined permanently. Illegals continued flooding the state, consuming benefits, a Democrat (Gray Davis) won the next election and entered into a court settlement to halt the law forever.
bumbadum@bumbadum14

Your reminder that 60% of Californians voted to strip illegals of taxpayer funded programs and a judge said no.

@Defence_Index He said they should, given their interests align just like the US and others. Yet, all it took was some US people asking for accountability in Ukraine, AFTER helping for years AND spending Billions of dollars and the new woke ideologues screamed murder, to this day...

@IAPonomarenko Trump primarily called out that its been the US paying for the majority too long. Its a reasonable criticism. There are too many people with this emotional derangement syndrome pushing extreme narratives and stories from a position of hatred instead of reason.

You know how we say in Ukraine: now Trump has to eat the mess pie he was baking for others. You either support alliances, respect your friends and their interests, coordinate with them and thus benefit from partnerships with countries close to you -- or you sling dumb insults left and right, spit in your friends’ faces, play a big tough guy who needs no one, measure dicks and cozy up to dictators, and end up alone. Mocking NATO and the alliance with Europe was great fun. Lifting sanctions on Putin and twisting arms over Greenland and Ukraine felt very bold. But now you get exactly what you wanted: a world where Euro-Atlantic unity is gone, and America is no longer followed as the leader of the free world.

I’ve notice that everyone trying to get rid of ad shares are all millionaires. There’s thousands of honest people on X where that money per month, whether it’s $200 or $3000, etc, helps pay their bills and feed their families. Cheerleading taking that away, because you’re rich, makes you look like a snob and a jerk.

I think they should get rid of it. Revenue sharing incentivizes all the wrong behavior. But I'm interested in your thoughts. Please like and share and comment below.

One reason for the collapse of American authority in the world is that we have a class of policy elites that is living in total la la land. They’ve completely lost any leash to reality. We’re getting humiliated by Iran. But sure, it’s China that’s been revealed as a paper tiger.

Hey @KTVU, I read your article about the outrageous items in the 2025 end-of-the-year spending spree under Pete Hegseth. It was very informative. Then I went to the same watchdog website and pulled up the 2024 end-of-the-year spending spree under Lloyd Austin and you wouldn't believe what I found. I think it's safe to say you would find it equally outrageous, had you bothered to look - either before you published this piece or when it came out a year ago on the same website. I've included a link and have attached a comparison for your convenience. I'd love to hear back from you as to whether you find the 2024 Austin expenditures equally outrageous, or if it tempers your outrage at the 2025 Hegseth expenditures. One would think a news organization would consider it to be a valuable bit of context with which to better inform your readers. It's a shame you didn't bother to look it up. Took 30 seconds to find it. Look closely at the items and numbers - you'll find them to be very familiar. openthebooks.substack.com/p/dod-had-its-…

I’m distressed. But the other party, MY PARTY, ran a middle finger to the Constitution. I’d cast the same vote. And while we’re at it, I supported Kennedy, and would gladly have supported Gabbard, but the Democrats drove them out. I don’t like where we are, but have no regrets.

“We keep constantly being told that Iran is the number one sponsor of terrorism, yet according to the statistics collected by the CIA… since 1988, 80% of the fatalities caused by terrorists are from Sunni-backed groups. And who was fighting against Al Qaeda and ISIS in Syria? That would be Iran.” Former CIA analyst Larry C. Johnson argues the primary terror threat to the U.S. comes from Sunni extremist groups—not Shiite Iran—pointing out Tehran has previously fought groups like al-Qaeda and ISIS.
