@Nobleshield In my game if you dont have prof in a skill, i probably wont allow a roll on a lot of things. Everyone cant do everything. obviously you have to use discretion on this. Anyone can look for berries. Not everyone can follow 2 day old tracks. Even though both would be survival

I wonder just how much of 5e would be "fixed" if you: * Get rid of specific skills and had everything simply be an attribute check (think Shadowdark approach) * Get rid of subclasses entirely * No multi-classing * Do not allow the ability score improvement feats at all * Use that extended long rest time (short = 1 day, long = 1 week IIRC) * Only use theater of the mind for combat, no grid

So i ordered the AD&D Forgotten Realms boxed set from @halfpricebooks website. What I recieved was only one of the books that comes in the box...not the boxed set. Pretty lame.

Well, that was a first. I was just contacted by some guy asking to buy a print of ‘the painting of the boy and his grandpa sitting on a wagon watching a rocket launch’…but tgat he coukdnt find it on my website. I replied that I never painted anything matching that description, and he sent me this obviously AI-generated rip-off of ‘The Unknown Awaits’. (Second image is my original painting). I know this gentleman meant well...he was genuinely looking for a legitimate way to get a print of an image he liked as a gift for his son...but this is going to be an interesting issue from now on.

@DungeonNoir I get the attempt, but D&D isn’t fandom merchandising in the way sports etc are. It’s a very niche participation hobby. Most players don’t express it through branded products, they express it by playing.

Hasbro has said, repeatedly, the actual game material amounts to a fairly minor proportion of D&D-related income.
