@ibuildthecloud I worked less hours for the amount of production, thousands less hours, resulting in more free time in my life. It's like if you buy 20 lbs of chicken for 1.15 a pound vs 2 lbs of chicken for 2.35 a pound. Regardless, you spent less money buying the 20 lbs of chicken overall.

Yeah, but you worked more hours. That's the weird thing. It's basically what everyone is doing. There's some psychological study there. You're more efficient so you put in more hours. Net result is you actually lose overall hours of your life. On the positive side, this is why engineers are going to still have a job. If you can produce more we will just demand more.

I'm so sick of the idea of agents and AI being this productivity hack. If you just buy into whatever the trend of the week you'll be unstoppable. It's mostly lies. Yes, coding with AI can be faster. But it is currently extremely difficult to move fast and ensure quality.

@ibuildthecloud My last game took a few weeks of 18 hour days. But I turned it out with <10% the overall hours of my life consumed. So in the long run, a lot less time. There's a lot of learning. The more you learn, the more efficient you get. My first game was months. Solo devs go years.
