The first Pakistan-China Agri Investment Conference is yet another milestone in a series of B2B initiatives we are organizing to attract export-oriented investment to Pakistan. When productivity is enhanced through innovative interventions, exports grow & economy flourishes- and we are pursuing this mutually reinforcing cycle by promoting joint ventures. The agri conference was a resounding success, resulting in nearly 80 MoUs & JVs worth $4.5 billion. Agriculture is our lifeline, and through this conference we have made one humble contribution to change this lifeline into an engine of growth. In my remarks at the ceremony, I highlighted the vital significance of agriculture for Pakistan’s economy and the need for our two countries to build on our complementarities to jointly foster food security. Also had a productive meeting with Mr. Yang Junhui, Party Secretary of SWUST. We discussed practical ways to further deepen exchanges & cooperation in enhancing agriculture productivity, talent cultivation, joint research & technology transfer..
