I like the Freedom Caucus, but attaching the SAVE Act to warrantless spying is dumb. Why would we let the government spy on us in exchange for anything? After we trade the Fourth Amendment for parliamentary advantage, what shall we trade the First and Second Amendments for?

@realDrTT The world would be a better place if everyone took the time to earnestly visit different faiths and their services. We can gain a lot better understanding of others which would cause more unification and less division.

Senate and House Democrats, and even some Republicans, just put us on course to turn off our most valuable intelligence tool to track terrorists coming to our country. Right as the World Cup begins.   The World Cup begins today. FISA expires tomorrow.   Even most Democrats acknowledge that FISA is necessary to identify foreign terrorists, disrupt plots, and protect Americans from attack. They've voted for it before, so it's not a vote of conscious, it's a foolish political statement. Even some Republicans, like my political opponent, campaigned against FISA, basing their opposition upon a collection of widespread lies that I’ve debunked plenty of times before.   This isn’t a symbolic vote. It’s a decision with real consequences. Thousands of lives are being put at risk for political theater.

The federal government should not be permitted to access Americans' private communications without a warrant. I remain committed to protecting both our national security and the constitutional rights of the American people. For this reason, I again voted no on extending FISA Section 702.

@SpeakerJohnson 19 Republicans withheld our votes in order to preserve Constitutionally guaranteed rights. By refusing to honor the Fourth Amendment, you’re jeopardizing the continuation of FISA. Include a WARRANT requirement for US citizens if you want Republicans to pass this bill.

199 Democrats voted AGAINST a clean three week extension of the FISA National Security Law for political purposes. When the bill went down, they APPLAUDED. They are willing to JEOPARDIZE the safety and the security of the American people to make a cheap political point. I pray that we do not have a serious calamity on our shores.
