It was Labor that ended the White Australia Policy. On this day in 1973, Gough Whitlam’s Migration Act came into force – ending the White Australia Policy. This led Australia to become the proud multicultural nation we are today. Labor has a proud tradition of embracing Australian multiculturalism, and I am proud that so many cultural traditions call Perth home.

Unrest is brewing inside @AusFedPolice ranks about how former soldier Ben Roberts-Smith was arrested this week, with members criticising a decision to video the event and even mocking the Commissioner for wearing more service medals than the war hero thenightly.com.au/australia/ange…

One again the Zionists have destroyed a foundation doing great work. Labor PM Albanese is happy for taxpayers to fund Israel's destruction of Palestinian settlements via Australian Charities but wont fund Local charities at home. Labor are a disgrace. theguardian.com/australia-news…

ASIO Amendment Bill No. 2 has officially passed Parliament — 106 Ayes to 8 Noes. This is no longer “temporary anti-terror legislation.” It is now permanent law giving ASIO police-state style powers over every day Australian citizens. What the bill actually does: Removes the sunset clause — these powers are now permanent Allows compulsory questioning of children as young as 14 Lets the Attorney-General personally issue questioning warrants — no court approval required Makes it a criminal offence to tell anyone (including your family) that you’ve been questioned Gives ASIO the power to reject your chosen lawyer and severely restricts what your lawyer can do or say during questioning Strips away your right to silence — you must answer their questions or face jail This is not about catching terrorists anymore. This is about giving an intelligence agency the power to secretly drag any Australian in for interrogation without suspecting you of any crime. 106 politicians just voted to hand ASIO these powers. Only 8 had the courage to vote No. Your right to remain silent? Your right to proper legal defense? Your right to know when the state is targeting you? Gone. Eroded. Normalised. This is how freedoms die — not with a bang, but with a quiet division in Parliament House. Share this widely. Australians need to know what just happened behind closed doors. #ASIOBill #PoliceStateAustralia #FreedomUnderAttack #australiawakeup

As someone who has operated within Australia's intelligence community for over 20 years, I can say with authority that Australia is sleepwalking into a surveillance state! The @ASIOGovAu Amendment Bill is about to make “compulsory questioning” powers PERMANENT. No more sunset clauses. No more regular reviews. @ASIOGovAu can now drag any Australian in, even if you’re not charged with a crime and force you to answer questions or send you to gaol. No independent judge required! Legal representation? Heavily restricted. And they’ve just expanded it to cover sabotage, communal violence, border threats, and more. I hunt terrorists and support real national security, but this isn’t security. This is permanent government overreach that shreds our basic freedoms. KILL THIS BILL.

Singapore is one of Australia’s most important fuel suppliers, helping to keep our economy and people moving. Today, Prime Minister @LawrenceWongST and I agreed to make maximum efforts to deliver energy security for both our nations. Because the war in the Middle East might be a long way from here, but it’s having impacts across our region. And the best way to deal with this is by working together, as partners and neighbours.

A quarter of Australia’s fuel comes from refineries in Singapore. That’s why I’m here, working with our international partners to keep fuel flowing for Australians. Because when things are uncertain around the world, strong relationships with our neighbours matter more than ever.

🚨STARMER BLASTS TRUMP: IT’S TRUMP’S FAULT UK FAMILIES HAVE SKY HIGH ENERGY BILLS! 😳 Prime Minister Points Finger Directly At Us President For Punishing British Households With Wild And Soaring Price Swings Whoa! Keir Starmer has taken the gloves off completely and is now openly blaming President Donald Trump, alongside Putin, for the sky-high and fluctuating energy bills hammering UK families and businesses. Speaking during his Gulf visit as oil prices surged above $110 a barrel amid escalating Middle East tensions and Trump’s strong rhetoric, the Prime Minister unleashed his frustration at global leaders he claims are causing the chaos. “I’m fed up with the fact that families across the country see their bills go up and down on energy, businesses bills go up and down on energy because of the actions of Putin or Trump across the world,” Starmer declared. This provocative swipe escalates transatlantic tensions, but critics are pointing to Starmer’s net zero obsession, refusal to allow new North Sea drilling, and heavy green taxes have left Britain dangerously reliant on volatile imports, making UK energy prices among the highest in the world regardless of international events.
