@FinnishZoomer It is not binding dogma and you contradict it by saying that the suppression of false religions may occur, a position which the document refutes.

Finnishman Act III ✝️🇫🇮🇪🇺
@TrCGroyper Theres no dogma that mandates the punishment of heretics by the state so idk what your lateran point was. And you’re still bound to accept Dignitatis humanae. Also you can suppress false religions but theres no absolute demand to do so especially in the modern world.

@TaylorRMarshall Cardinal Richelieu compromised Catholic values by backing Protestant states against the Catholic Holy Roman Empire in order to further French secular interests. Barron seems to be going down the same path. As a wiser man once said, bishops should serve their rulers, but God first

@FinnishZoomer I am speaking of dogma. "But the death of the soul is worse than freedom of error,' as Augustine was wont to say. When all restraints are removed by which men are kept on the narrow path of truth, their nature, which is already inclined to evil, propels them to ruin."-Gregory XVI

Niggèr because disciplines of V2 are also under whims of the pope. Canon 24 talks about the election of pastors but guess what thats not in effect anymore because the popes got rid of those. If you go to the early councils they have even more insane canons that shouldn’t be followed and all yes they are still valid councils you just don’t know the difference between dogma and discipline.

@FinnishZoomer There were many at the time, but no longer, because your secular and Protestant allies won. Also, Church council is still legitimate, and you started by citing Vatican II. Why can you reference that council but I cannot reference Lateran IV?

@TrCGroyper You dont have even one catholic country where you could turn those people over plus Laterans disciplinary teaching is under the authority of the Popes and they can do with it how they please. What you should be talking about is Leo X Exsurge Domine.

@FinnishZoomer No one has the right to choose a false religion. Vatican II was not a dogmatic council and cannot override Sacred Scripture and 1,900 years of Catholic teaching.

@TrCGroyper @TaylorRMarshall Like George Basil too during the Falklands War, "our instincts as a conference of bishops should be patriotic methinks", since clerics inc bishops if not cardinals still do have obligations to their own patria of birthplace and family origin. For Leo XIV that might be France?

You can travel to Italy, but you’ll never be an Italian. You can travel to France but you’ll never be a Frenchman. You can live in Germany but you’ll never be a German. You can pack your bags and live the rest of your life in China or Japan, but you’ll never be Chinese or Japanese. Yet you can come from any one of those countries to the United States of America, and you can still be an American – so long as you work hard, you play by the rules, you make your contributions, wait your turn, pledge allegiance to the flag, and obtain your citizenship.

@loughnane_kevin @TaylorRMarshall It does more. It actually carries out terror and violence. Nearly everyone in the world-including both Christians and Muslims-hates Jews. The real question is, are you a dirty Jew?

@TrCGroyper @TaylorRMarshall And does Israel have a flag it regularly stamps on and declares death to that state every single day? Does it have terrorist “arms” that attacks other states in its name? Better question- are you a dirty Muslim?

@loughnane_kevin @TaylorRMarshall There is a state in the Middle East that routinely terrorizes its neighbors, kills thousands, supports foreign terrorist organizations, controls American politics, and has a secret illegal nuclear weapons program. It’s not Iran.

@TaylorRMarshall No. Anyone who’s been paying attention to international politics for the last 50 years don’t need anyone to tell them if our war with Iran is legitimate. The wiser of us already know if Trump fails here, we’ve got a nuclear armed Iran and a nuclear armed race.

@TaylorRMarshall It’s interesting how Bishop Barron didn’t even address the berating and disrespect Trump threw at the Pope. Instead, blamed the division on the media.

It's good to see the restoration of the crucifix in southern Lebanon, as well as jail time for the perpetrators. More significant jail time, as well as court-martials, would be ideal. But in any case, the swift action is appropriate and encouraging.
Israel Defense Forces@IDF

A short while ago, in full coordination with the local community of Debel in southern Lebanon, the damaged statue was replaced by IDF troops. The Northern Command worked to coordinate the replacement of the statue from the moment it received the report of the incident. The IDF expresses deep regret over the incident, and is working to ensure that it does not happen again in the future.

@Lebabomb @barsik22 @AlshabakaLB Maybe your town or your family didn't, but many of your fellow Lebanese Christians did, although I understand that it was mostly out of expediency and common interest, not because it was something genuinely wanted.
