This name has deep roots in Kentucky as one of the most influential thoroughbred breeding farms of its time, Woodburn Stud home to the great LEXINGTON and birthplace of PREAKNESS the namesake of the Preakness Stakes, second jewel to the Triple Crown. This land stretched across thousands of acres in and around Midway, Ky where our farm @resracingky now sits Woodburn was chosen in a vote with our many micro-share owners through MyRacehorse as I felt it important they had their input and voices heard for the first of many important decisions on this colt. Looking forward to what the future holds for him...

Unless you’re happy with the status quo in this industry, this is a really a bad take. For four years I’ve been fighting for the future of horse racing for the people who love and depend on this sport, and most importantly, for the Thoroughbred. My sole purpose is simple: to make this sport better for the people who love it, want it, need it, and for the Thoroughbreds themselves. I grew up a kid from Queens dreaming of owning a racehorse and winning a big race. I’ve been unbelievably blessed to achieve more than I ever imagined. My battle with The Jockey Club has nothing to do with power. I don’t want control. I don’t want a role. I don’t want a future seat in this industry. I want positive and necessary change. This fight is about evolution in a sport that has been decimated by decades of poor leadership, stagnation, and inaction. I’m fighting for the people this industry has failed and tarnished. For the Thoroughbreds. For the fans, horseplayers, breeders, owners, track operators, trainers, jockeys, and the countless hardworking employees who truly care about these magnificent athletes. Everyone agrees the industry needs significant change. The Jockey Club claims on its website “The Jockey Club has pursued its mission… dedicated to the improvement of Thoroughbred breeding and racing… earning widespread recognition as an industry leader.” Does anyone actually believe this??? That statement could not be further from the truth. Three decades of declining participation, shrinking foal crops, collapsing tracks, ignored aftercare, lack of traceability, and an active kill-pen and slaughter pipeline prove otherwise. Love me. Like me. Dislike me. Hate me. But understand this. I am fighting for the Thoroughbred. For the people who still believe. For the future of this sport. I never wanted nor intended to bring a national lawsuit against The Jockey Club and its Board of Stewards. But I refuse to sit back and ignore the misery the people of this industry are forced to endure and the lack of protection and lifetime care for the Thoroughbreds themselves. Are you Team Jockey Club or Team Repole???

It projects fear. Between us, it reads as desperate and paranoid, and it only reinforces the belief that there’s a lot being hidden. So let’s remove the smoke and mirrors. I’m publicly proposing a four hour, live, uncensored forum between me and the Board of Stewards of The Jockey Club, broadcast for every track operator, owner, trainer, breeder, jockey employee, horseplayer, and fan in the industry to watch. Full transparency. No spin. No scripts. To further encourage you to do what’s right for the people of this industry and for the Thoroughbreds themselves, I propose a $1,000,000 aftercare commitment tied to this forum: I’ll personally contribute $500,000. The Stewards collectively would contribute $500,000. If you have nothing to hide, this should be a no-brainer. Or is it transparency for thee, but not for me??? And before you continue accelerating the erosion of this industry, here’s some candid advice: It’s time to move on from a 20-year president whose leadership has failed this sport. And respectfully, but necessarily, the current Stewards should consider stepping aside from their so called “volunteer” roles. This isn’t personal, but, you make terrible “volunteers.” 😂
 This is about ownership and accountability, not excuses. Because leadership without results isn’t leadership at all. Racing………this is your moment. If you care about the future of this sport, the people who depend on it, and the Thoroughbreds themselves, now is the time to speak up. I need more than the silent majority behind me. Last night Minneapolis Police say individuals threw snow, ice, and rocks at officers, police vehicles, and other vehicles in the roadway. At least 30 people were detained, cited, and released.
