Gemini 3.1 Flash Live, a new version of Google's speech-to-speech LLM, just launched. As you can see in the video, the vibes are really good, and our friends who worked on the model are very excited. @AnthropicAI have you guys lower the usage limits? I have been using Anthropic with same pace and methods during the last couple months on Max plan ($200/month) and never hit the limit but now at the beginning of the week I am being told my week limit if over??

@observie how is this better than digital microscopes (besides resolution)? I find looking into the lenses a bit exhausting. I usually just use a magnifying glass for visual inspection (watch maker's glass :D)

I hate USB-C and USB 3.x layout, so confusing, so many wires, and no USB-PD + signal switch that is layout optimized for USB-C connector

@zackslab @quilterai @i2cjak @yacineMTB The biggest issue I had with quilter was length-matched impedance controlled routing of high speed signals. Even though it asked for all that information (differential impedance, etc), the routing did not respect of any of them and did a spaggetti job.

@blind_via I would not use a toaster without temperature controller. If not set up properly can damage components. hot plate is better for smaller boards.

"I can't install those parts by hand, that'll never work" PCB Reflow oven hack, just buy a toaster oven from the thrift store. Apply paste by hand or with a stencil, and reflow your boards yourself like a pro. I've even heard of MCUs, being used to thermal profile ramp with these toaster ovens. A project by itself. Or just toss it in there without thermal ramp, it'll probably be fine if it's not a big board.

@pr0t0_01 @Raaka_elgupo mini560 have notoriously high defect rate (50%). always test before soldering them. They have done a terrible job with IC soldering on those boards. I am going to design and make my own mini560 module because of these issues.

@Raaka_elgupo bro, ignore the soldering technique, there is a whole different reason why its like that, I liked the quotes on them XD. Those blue modules were re-soldered about 4 5 times, coz most of them arrived dead
