@profstonge Do you believe the SAVE act is needed to address voter fraud or is it just a part of a voter suppression strategy to rig the election?

@PhoebeFletcher @ProfessorPape I've seen indications that the secular regular army, continued from the time of the Shah, might turn against the religious IRGC. Any thoughts?

@VALUBULL28 @ProfessorPape Yeah exactly although IRGC seems to be depleted as they have lowered conscription age to 12, armed wives of Basij and are now bringing Hashd Al-Shaabi and PMF Shia militias through the border from Iraq

This is why Republicans are trying so hard to suppress the vote through their pathetic SAVE act. Maybe next time, do a better job running the country so most of the country doesn’t end up hating you.

Doctors stunned: Advanced liver cancer (worst prognosis) completely vanishes in two patients using only THC/CBD oil drops! Two elderly patients (one 82 years old, one 77 years old) had very advanced liver cancer with a lot of tumors. Doctors had basically run out of treatment options for them. Both started using cannabis oil under the tongue just to feel better and control symptoms: Patient A: a mild oil (10% THC + 5% CBD), 2 drops, 3 times a day Patient B: a stronger oil (15% THC + 2% CBD), 5 drops, 2 times a day Surprisingly, scans later showed that all of their tumors completely disappeared and stayed gone for a long time (complete and lasting remission). @marclanders No one should take this as anything but luck. Steve Jobs tried alternative treatments for liver cancer and it didn't end well. OTOH, THC/CBD seems a can't hurt, might help adjunct to medically approved treatments.

@BasedMikeLee The Senate did it's job: Produced a reasonable compromise to fix a crisis. The House failed epically and is expending tremendous energy to blame the guys that did their jobs. House FAILS. Fire the reps responsible.

The Senate fails when it (1) creates a crisis, (2) immediately takes a ten-day break, (3) returns to work for a few weeks, (4) fails to resolve the crisis again, and then (5) takes another two-week break without resolving the crisis it created

The Last Time the World Ran Out of Cheap Oil, It Took a Decade to Recover The 1970s were supposed to be the decade of American confidence. The moon landings were fresh. The economy had boomed for thirty years straight. Then someone turned off the tap. In October 1973, Arab members of OPEC announced they would no longer sell oil to the United States. The reason was simple: Washington had backed Israel in the Yom Kippur War. The punishment was swift. Oil prices quadrupled in weeks. Gas stations ran dry. Lines stretched around city blocks, sometimes for hours, sometimes for nothing. The government told people to turn down their thermostats and banned Christmas lights to save energy. In the world’s richest country, people were rationing fuel like it was wartime. It was. The second shock came six years later, and this time nobody even needed an embargo. The Iranian Revolution in 1979 toppled the Shah, paralyzed one of the planet’s biggest oil producers, and sent prices into freefall upward again. Inflation exploded. Interest rates followed. The US economy slid into a recession that wiped out jobs and savings across the western world. What the 1970s proved, at enormous cost, was something geologists and strategists had been saying for years: industrial civilization doesn’t run on ingenuity or military power or democratic values. It runs on oil. And the countries sitting on top of it had just figured out they could use that as a weapon. Stay connected, Follow Gandalv @Microinteracti1

@JacobShap First rule of holes, when you find yourself in one, stop digging. That said, there are terrible and less bad strategies going forward. Let's hope they choose the latter. Recent history doesn't make me optimistic.

🚨 🔥HOLY SMOKES: 7 million Americans in the streets today. 3,000 cities. Every state. One message. No Kings. This is one of the largest demonstrations in American history. Larger than the Women’s March. Larger than the Vietnam protests. Larger than any single day of the George Floyd demonstrations. 7 million people who pay taxes. Who send their kids to school. Who fill their gas tanks. Who watch the news. Who read the Epstein files. Who counted the dead in Iran. Who decided today was the day to be counted.

Just to remind all of the conservatives lying and saying the No Kings Rallies are a bunch of “paid professional protesters” — the Trump administration paying influencers $8 million to push pro-ICE propaganda online, is what “paid professional protestors” actually look like.

@peterbakernyt @YLindaQiu While the Medicare fraudsters Trump recently pardoned had big incentives to commit fraud, non-citizens do not have ANY incentive to commit voter fraud and would face jail time and big fines if caught voting illegally. The voter fraud claims are an excuse for voter suppression.

Fact checking fraud claims: Heritage Foundation documented 1,620 cases of voter fraud from 1982-2025, including 100 cases of noncitizens voting. That's about 0.000008% of more than 1.3 billion votes cast in presidential elections in that time. @YLindaQiu nytimes.com/2026/03/27/us/…

Mr Trump, Russia is helping our enemies and is our enemy. Ukraine can help us develop state of the art drone warfare and is our freind.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy / Володимир Зеленський@ZelenskyyUa

When I travel outside of Ukraine, I get daily intelligence updates online. This morning, I was briefed that U.S. military facilities in the Middle East and the Gulf region were photographed by Russian satellites in the interests of Iran. On March 24th, they imaged the U.S.–UK joint military facility on Diego Garcia located in the Chagos Archipelago in the Indian Ocean. They also captured pictures of Kuwait International Airport and parts of the infrastructure of the Greater Burgan oil field. On March 25th, they took pictures of the Prince Sultan Air Base in Saudi Arabia. The Shaybah oil and gas field in Saudi Arabia, İncirlik Air Base in Türkiye, and Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar were all imaged on March 26th. There are no Ukrainian facilities on this list. But who is helping whom when sanctions are lifted from an aggressor that earns daily revenue and provides intelligence for strikes against American, Middle Eastern, UK, and U.S.–UK bases and so on? When surveillance is carried out over facilities in Ukraine, we always understand that they must be protected, since plans are in motion to destroy them – energy and water infrastructure, military facilities, and so on. Everyone knows that repeated reconnaissance indicates preparations for strikes. How can sanctions be eased if this is what the Russians are doing? There must be pressure on the aggressor. And lifting sanctions is certainly not pressure. It looks strange. Sanctions are being lifted, while the aggressor is providing intelligence to strike facilities, including those of the countries that are discussing or have already lifted sanctions. From my conversation with journalists (3/3).
