3. Positioning Sets You Apart Every market has competition. Your brand helps define why someone should choose you over anyone else. By identifying your unique strengths and communicating them clearly, you create a lasting impression in the minds of your audience. Actionable Tip: Ask yourself: What would my audience lose if my brand didn’t exist? Use this answer to define your unique value.

2. Emotional Connection Builds Loyalty People buy from brands they trust and connect with emotionally. In the early days, when your budget and reach might be limited, a compelling story and authentic voice can be your most powerful tools. Your brand story isn’t just about what you do—it’s about why you do it. Actionable Tip: Share your founder’s journey, your “aha moment,” or the problem that inspired you to start. Be real. Authenticity is magnetic.

2024 wasn't an easy year, but it was an interesting one. I wish you friendship — friendship with yourselves, technology, and the world. I am grateful for your support, and see you in 2025.

I really don't understand this Dubai hype. Yes, it's a nice city to go on vacation, but that's probably it. “But Cédric, Dubai has very low taxes.” Yes, but what do you really want here? A bit more money? Freedom? You flee your home country and go to Dubai to save on taxes and be “free”? - That's what I hear most often. But this “freedom” is actually the opposite. It seems like you are actually enslaved by taxes? You have tied yourself to a city with very low taxes. Somehow you have nowhere else to go with this mindset. That is very incomprehensible to me. Face your taxes no matter where you are. If you pay any, it means your business is healthy and doing well. Instead of trying to save money, either make sure you're earning more in the first place. Earn more. Multiply it. And finally, protect it.

Focus more on benefits than features Focus more on building than planning Focus more on executing than ideating Focus more on simplifying than organizing Focus more on solving problem than designing Focus more on user experience than marketing

High short-term growth is a very poor predictor of long-term success ➡️➡️ The biggest mistake startups make is solely focusing on performance marketing while neglecting the creation of future demand and brand building. In almost every startup I have worked with, I had to advocate for a marketing budget dedicated to brand building. The issue is that performance marketing tends to be highly effective in the early years.

Startup founders often ask, “Why invest in branding when templates exist?” Designers need to demonstrate why thoughtful, unique branding matters.

@driceroland It also shows whether a logo works well on more than just a plain background. Great Examples
