Cognitive Dissonance theory was probably my favorite to learn about. It's so interesting to think about the way we react when the behaviors don't fit the societal, or even our own perceptions and deeper belief in something. #UTcommtheory

My favorite theory may be the face negotiation theory. I think it is important to understand how culture is influential in face concern and conflict style. Knowing this is helpful in understanding why people communicate the way they do. #UTcommtheory

I believe Agenda-Setting theory is still very relevant today because social media influences us by ads or news stories that we see. I always notice ads on my social media accounts that I was looking at prior to even going on social media such as buying furniture. #UTcommtheory

I believe Agenda-Setting Theory is still relevant. It is obvious in social media & algorithmic gatekeepers. Agenda melding is impactful & shows how people choose to surround themselves with content they agree with. This is limiting & relies on horizontal media. #UTcommtheory

I picked Google from the Media Landscape. I found that Google and Youtube are the two most visited sites worldwide. I believe that concentrated media ownership can impact how and what stories are shared and and can be limiting. #UTcommtheory

I chose Disney, a global entertainment company. With TV &film subsidiaries, they have huge global reach. Including parks & resorts.I was surprised Disney has an extensive environmental plan, goal of net zero emissions for operations by 2030. An environmental steward.#UTcommtheory

I avoid context collapse by always keeping my coworkers off of my close friends and personal social media accounts. I feel more comfortable knowing that there are boundaries and they don’t need to see everything. #UTcommtheory

@acherry333 I do that too! I work shifts. When I went to a new shift the supervisor went "yea okay. You can stop that now. Just be yourself" I was like "thank goodness! Do I HAVE to be chatty or can I keep to myself?" She said just to be myself and I could finally breath #utcommtheory
