#utcommtheory the agenda setting theory is still very much present. I see it every day in the media I consume. I notice it mainly on Tiktok, the algorithm stays consistent when I like a lot of similar videos.

The company I chose is Hulu and one fact I learned was that after Disney bought 21st Century Fox in 2016, giving them majority stake in the company, the top leader at Hulu began reporting directly to the Walt Disney Television Leads. This gif represents Disney now. #UTcommtheory

@Emma37439986 I agree that the current comm technology definitely helped us during the pandemic. It allowed a lot of things to continue to be done and some of those tactics are still used today. #UTcommtheory

Current comm technology positively impacted our experience of covid-19 by allowing us to do many things from home now. Lots of things such as work and school can all be done online now, making it more flexible for people. #UTcommtheory

@queernamehowiee I agree, because when I do something wrong I tend to change my facial expression and it shows that I know I messed up. #UTcommtheory

@JadecoombeUT I totally agree I go through the same thing as a football player. I can post things that my friends may like and find funny but I can always post them publicly because we have a “image” to uphold. #UTcommtheory

When posting on social media you have to take into consideration how different people may react to your post. Some things I post my friends like but my if my parents or grandparents saw it they would not approve. #UTcommtheory

@kaseygale1 This is a great example because I do hear a lot of people stereotyping Greek life. The media definitely helps show what is actually going on in a sorority or fraternity. #UTcommtheory

This might be Twitter, but it's Twitter for the classroom. It would behoove me not to treat this account like it's my private account in order to avoid context collapse. #utcommtheory

Getting everyone involved and participate in decision making help make employees take responsibility. They work hard and coordinate with each other to get the job done and achieve success. #UTcommtheory

An organization that needs a culture change is UT parking. I believe that since we pay so much in tuition already, we should not have to pay this much for a pass. Also, a $55 ticket is excessive considering we pay only a little double that for each semester’s pass. #UTcommtheory

A situation that causes me cognitive dissonance is when I know I have deadlines to meet. No matter what, I always end up completing my work at the last minute. #UTcommtheory

@Chiamaka_Anna18 This is one of the reason I believe that stronger ties lead to more media because I do the same thing with my friends back home. There are other people that I associate with but aren’t super close to that I don’t communicate like that with. #UTcommtheory

I believe the stronger the tie, the more media we use. Example is with my bestie, we communicate daily in different forms like FaceTime, texting, and simply sending memes on Instagram, I don’t communicate the same with other people I’m not close to. #UTcommtheory

At work, when a couple of new employees joined the department. I would say I used Verbal Communication axiom from Uncertain Reduction Theory to get to know them better. We continue to get to know each other better through self disclosure and finding similarity.#UTcommtheory

In highschool we made fake instagrams that only friends could follow. We posted pictures of us doing things that were against our school handbook. Someone took screenshots of our pictures and sent them to the school. This is a great example of boundary turbulence. #UTcommtheory

@lilymfreese I was forced to watch a few episodes and I agree. People coming around and them becoming busy after they started off doing everything together hurt their relationship. #UTcommtheory

In the show New Girl, Nick and Jessica are roommates and starting a new relationship. There is a struggle with connection and autonomy. They are with each other constantly and have little time apart. #UTcommtheory
