@qarayahya You are 100% correct… I totally missed that. I guess the only benefit to what I did was separate the row/column spacing. Updating (probably deleting) that github issue now.

@daljo628 Sure, or even sooner. I just need to dust off my SVN setup to actually get something pushed to WP.org 😅. I think there's technically already a bunch of unreleased stuff in trunk as well.

@beaulebens I've been tinkering on a project that's using Keyring to handle the credential storage and such -- if I put together enough changes to justify a new release, would you be up to shipping one later this year?

WordPress now runs entirely in your browser. my.WordPress.net gives you a complete, private WordPress environment with no sign-up and no hosting plan needed. Everything stays on your device. You can use it to write, learn, experiment, or build with pre-configured apps like a personal CRM or RSS reader. wp.me/pZhYe-59R

Anyone have advice on being a plugin developer and debugging issues on WordPress VIP? It's such a unique environment with all the VIP dropins and mu plugins. But as we're not an agency, we don't have any of the access that agency devs will have.

@daljo628 Good question. I know they aren't charging based on revenue, but I would guess features are similar between the two. I'm sure some Newsroom vs Newspack comparison posts are coming from both sides.

Just had an awesome demo of the new @wpengine Newsroom platform! Love seeing standardization around key features for news publishers on WordPress. If you are in the business of news and media, you should absolutely check it out! wpengine.com/blog/newsroom-…

Why 2FA login for admins is not in WP core? I would think in 2026 that this is a much needed feature. Yes I've been using plugins forever, but this is something WordPress should look into imho

@daljo628 @konstruktors @rmelogli Read it all. Lots of good discussions but a lot of it also feels very dated given that it's 10y old. The landscape is not the same anymore, opt-in 2fa is standard and even forced 2fa is becoming more commonplace. Yes, I can use a plugin, but all competitors now offer it outthebox

@jonathan_dejong @konstruktors @rmelogli We'd like to, but in the end it's a decision for leadership on whether it's in a state where they want it in core. There's tradeoffs for everything, including the support burden it could add to the .org community for site owners that lock themselves out mistakenly.

@briancoords @KatieKeithBarn2 Nice that we have application passwords in core (along with a REST API endpoint) without needing a plugin. I don't think @daljo628 realized how significant this feature will be for the era of AI 😅

Thinking about @KatieKeithBarn2 and how we can make MCP a bit easier. One thought is including some additional UI that generates the API keys and the command/spec for you to add it yourself.

Since @DHSgov is once again trying to politicize a tragedy, let's set the record straight here.   Every commercial driver’s license issued by PennDOT is cleared by the federal SAVE database... administered by Kristi Noem.   This person had legal status in Noem's database when the license was issued, and actually still shows as eligible to receive a license *as of today.*   @Sec_Noem — you should probably get your own shop in order, because your operational failures seem to match the scale of your moral failures.

FOUR PEOPLE KILLED BY ILLEGAL ALIEN SEMI-TRUCK DRIVER. On February 3, Bekzhan Beishekeev, an illegal alien from Kyrgyzstan, was traveling on an Indiana highway when he allegedly failed to brake for a slowed semi-truck in front of him. Police say he swerved into the westbound lane and slammed into a van carrying up to 15 passengers. Four people were killed in the crash. Beishekeev illegally came to the United States using the Biden administration’s disastrous CBP One app and was released into the United States. Even worse, Josh Shapiro’s Pennsylvania issued him a commercial driver’s license. Sanctuary politicians must STOP issuing commercial driver’s licenses to illegal aliens before another American is killed.
