A couple weeks back I criticized Bill Simmons for his bad journalism and lies about LaMelo. I said that @MELOD1P was top twelve in impact in the league. This is the chart that I pulled it from. He currently sits at 11th. EPM isolates his independent impact. EPM is lineup-adjusted, opponent-adjusted and role-aware. @ZachLowe_NBA uses this stat. Per 75 possessions, which controls for minutes, LaMelo is 26 and 9 on better efficiency over D. White. @BillSimmons and @kirkgoldsberry needs to be held accountable. I’m serious, this is yellow journalism at this point.

I would really love to hear the case for White over Lamelo. Are writers just committed to writing Lamelo off or something?

I respectfully disagree with that blocking issue. I was on the resident selection committee for h-UCLA for 20 years, we NEVER blocked anyone. If you are familiar with ERAS, you will select many criteria even before you see a candidate's name and picture. Going by the foreign medical schools..maybe you have a point there, but most are American citizens

The math isn’t adding up in our medical schools. We have the residency spots, but we’re blocking U.S. students from filling them while educating a quarter of our workforce from abroad. Why is the system set up this way?

Wild to say this when the most recent indictment of a BLM leader was this past December. Tashella Dickerson, who ran BLM-OKC, was charged with embezzling $3.15 million for personal vacations and properties. Patrice Cullors bought a $6 million mansion in LA and $8 million mansion in Canada with BLM money and gave massive contracts worth hundreds of thousands to people in her personal network. This was on the heels of at least 5 Black men (and 1 Palestinian-American man) connected to the Ferguson protests who died or were killed under curious circumstances (including 2 who were found shot inside of burning cars). Those 6 men were Deandre Joshua, Darren Seals, MarShawn McCarrel, Edward Crawford, Jr., Danye Jones, and Bassem Masri. So while queer Black intersectionalist women co-opted a movement about lethal state violence targeting Black men, embezzled millions of dollars from that movement, and was largely hostile to the Black men in these spaces (repeating much of the same rhetoric being said in this video), the “conversations that need to be had” are the same old Black Patriarchy myths. When are Black intersectionalists going to take accountability for co-opting BLM and selling out Black people for more recognition from—and assimilation with—white liberal and corporate America?
