The best players in the world aren’t living at 190 ball speed. This table shows the average ball speed and ball speed rank for the current top 25 players in the world (Bryson and Hatton not included as I do not have current data for them). The average ball speed? 175.3 mph The median ball speed? 174.3 mph Average ball speed rank? 85.9 Median ball speed rank? 88.0 Only 2 players are over 185mph. None are over 190mph. Distance matters. But don’t buy the myth that the best in the world are all speed monsters. Skill still wins. Always has. Always will.

From Ryan Smith and the Utah Jazz to Mat Ishbia and the Phoenix Suns, owners across North American professional sports are lowering concession prices for fans. The idea is that a better gameday experience keeps fans coming back and often leads to the eventual purchase of higher-margin items, like merchandise.
