On this Sambalpuri Day, let me share a personal experience from one of my visits to Sambalpur. I had traveled there by train with my family some time ago. We planned to visit a few places but hadn’t pre-booked any taxi. I thought I’d arrange one after reaching the hotel. But while on the train, it struck me - why not book a taxi in advance that could pick us up from the railway station, stay with us for two days, and drop us back? I searched on Google and called a local taxi operator. He asked for our train details, confirmed the booking, shared the driver’s number, and finalized the price - all without asking for any advance payment. Unlike in Bhubaneswar, where travel agencies often ask for an advance or fuel cost upfront, here they didn’t even mention it…not during refueling, not during the trip. The driver picked us up, stayed with us for the full 2N/3D trip, and dropped us back at the station. I paid the full amount at the end. He would go home in the night after dropping us at the hotel. Neither the driver nor the agency knew us, yet they trusted us completely. Not once did they doubt whether we’d pay. I’ve been to Sambalpur many times since my student days, and I can honestly say, they are among the nicest people I’ve ever come across. #SambalpuriDin

Not as vast as #Nandankanan, but #Rourkela’s Indira Gandhi Park packs in charm, with a zoo, toy train, boat rides, aquarium, doll museum, leopard, crocodile and birds. A safe, favourite picnic spot for school kids, it’s surely a fond memory for anyone who’s spent time in the Steel City of #Odisha. Ps: watch in 1.5x-2x as the voice over is really slow

Winters felt like winter & summers like summer Riding a bike was something to look forward to & not dread like we do now
