Product • Design • Development for growing SaaS teams ⁘ Brand is the edge in a crowded SaaS market. Turn positioning into product systems that don’t blend in.

The market is shifting fast. The speed of building software has skyrocketed. The SaaS baseline has forever risen. “Good” is no longer a differentiator, it simply makes you invisible. When everyone can ship, the edge becomes judgment. This is why I’m bullish on genuine branding to set you apart, and that’s what I’m calling “The New Craft”.

@pxue Just for savings/investing. So non-transactional, which I think is what you're looking for? For me it works to have Stripe in front collecting and then just paid out. Then RBC USD acc for any direct payments when needed.

Does anyone have a good designer who specializes in elegant, editorial-style branding? Think Monocle, The Atlantic, The New Yorker, etc. Looking for a complete brand kit for a project.

@EthanDriskill Same for me. Studio profit = after tax dollars in your account is the best bet.

I would love to be acquired one day. But deep down I know the real answer is studio cash flow needs to go into real estate for the long haul.

@leenyburger Or, if you're making stuff to sell, you can give it Stipe keys, and it can care of everything (create products, buy links, etc)

@_andresjasso love the otherplace.studio landing page. But it's impossible to read anything on mobile below the

with the typing and reset of the h1, so the page keeps jumping up/down. I would just put a min-height of 3 lines on the h1 to avoid this from happening on mobile.

I would also say this "used to" be a bit harsh, getting in the zone and having sizeable updates EOD could make sense when working on one thing. When it's multiple, then yes, update each as you're context switching. BUT... I just had the conversation with my team this week to put more in to Linear. You can kick off Cloud agents from there, or copy the ticket as context for LLM so it becomes central to work for everyone (spec, design, dev, test) if all the context is in the ticket it helps everyone. And as pointed out, with MCP this could be automated with commit messages - really just have to make it part of the workflow. (And expectation upfront like you do in the job description) Especially during a trial - I can imagine it's a bit more to build trust from both sides. I'd update Linear all day to avoid meetings 👌🏻

Another engineer quit midway through a trial $9,000 a month and apparently keeping Linear updated as you go is too much Listed twice in job description Designed to facilitate remote work and fewer meetings

@lkr It's a challenge for sure! I've been exploring tasteprofile.io ping me on slack if you want to set one up to experiment with. Idea is to "know" your taste better and keep designs on brand.

@fbrill fix claude's shit design 😀 i do things like create checklist designs for pinterest, and it uses code instead of nano banana because its mostly text, but the design is terrible and I have be like you have no padding, no I meant padding on all sides, no 5px more, etc

Does anyone have a claude code design skill that gives feedback on PNGs, not websites? (The built-in frontend-design skill does not do this.)

Where do we even start @EthanDriskill - like "what's keeping you up at night" ? For me, designing still feels slow, tools are evolving but slow, coding feels like flying, and it's improved drastically in the last 10 months. So I feel the next big thing would be for design to catch-up (tooling) Also, our old workflows, etc don't work anymore - we'll need to craft new ways, and with the tooling equalizing who can do it, it's no longer about "how" it's simply about "what" (the right thing) and "why" (who cares and wants this).

I'm genuinely curious about what other designers are thinking right now about the new landscape of AI tools, especially with how many things we can pull off with Claude right now. I see some of you all are actively building and launching tools and having fun with it. Some are downplaying it, saying it's no big deal. And others aren't talking about it at all. I would love to kick off a discussion and just get open thoughts flowing and ideas moving because I believe we could all benefit from it. As we know, a rising tide lifts all boats!
