We're traveling for about 8 months, usually staying in a new Airbnb every week. Two things that are shockingly common: Some or all of the bedrooms have no light blocking. The bright sunlight just comes in once the sun rises. Two, nowhere to put a towel. Like not a single hook, rack etc in the entire bathroom.

Japan's biggest problem is they suck at software, have always sucked at software and will keep sucking at software Now that the most important thing is AI, which Taiwan builds the chips for with memory from Korea, they completely missed the boat on the hardware part (which they used to be still good at) And because they can't do software, they're going to alienate the last of their customers with AI features that suck because they can't do software
@levelsio@levelsio

Japan is speedrunning their companies into the ground while the Koreans and Chinese are happy to take their business Crazy to watch

This is what an AI Podcast AD should look like... These are the levels with #MTRXMedia... ALMOST got me thinking it was a REAL podcast AD that we produced in-house. But no, it's AI and took less than 1 hour to make.

Ok if you've seen this going around twitter And you're a non-dev Claudie like me who has no clue what it means Here's what ya do Tell Claudecode what plan you're on, paste in the help article, and ask how this impacts your usage I apparently use "programmatic usage" for my scheduled jobs, but I'm only at about half my monthly limit
ClaudeDevs@ClaudeDevs

Starting June 15, paid Claude plans can claim a dedicated monthly credit for programmatic usage. The credit covers usage of: - Claude Agent SDK - claude -p - Claude Code GitHub Actions - Third-party apps built on the Agent SDK

people say your kids are only little for a short time but is this true? like I had kids back to back (18 months apart, doesn’t feel possible to have them any quicker). I first got pregnant fall of 2021 and my second will start kindergarten in fall of 2029. that’s EIGHT YEARS. like that’s kind of a long time?

@jackfriks Outside US, like EU or SG you need to have a receipt/invoice for every single expense, and for some income too Even before any audit!

By far THE most annoying part of running a business for me is collecting receipts for my accountant Every month my accountants hounds me for invoices and receipts of every single expense I did, doesn't matter how tiny like $0.50, sometimes also for income (I don't know why) Most companies charge monthly so that means collecting 12 invoices per year at least One reason I am canceling so many SaaS is not even the cost, it's just that I hate bookkeeping so much so I think if I don't spend the money, I don't need to collect invoices and receipts for every single payment every month (also I like extremely high profit margins like 99.99%) I'm down to just about 10 companies I pay now, like Cloudflare, Hetzner, Backblaze etc. so that means only ~120 invoices to collect per year cause most are paid monthly Yes I have an automatic email filter that forwards invoices to my accountant but many companies do NOT send you an automatic invoice by email So you're talking about logging in to 10 websites, them sending you a 2FA code by email, opening your email, entering the code, trying to find wherever the Billing page is hidden, going to Invoices, opening the invoice, clicking Download to DPF (if it even exists) This week I tried to improve this, my accountant uses Xero, so I made a Xero API key, gave it to Claude Code, and asked it to login and figure stuff out, then it just asks me which expenses still need a receipt and a note, I find it and drag the PDF or screenshot into Claude Code and it resolves it Next step is letting it login to all my vendors and also download the invoice by itself which seems very very possible Much easier!

London has entered the chat. London has the expensive thing going for it, you simply have to think larger if you're going to live off your business in London. And while it's true that British culture doesn't exactly embrace entrepreneurship, London has its own thriving subculture that does. Bragging is very looked down upon, so it doesn't have that cheesy fake hustle culture of the US. And that just gives the whole thing this vibe that's more playful. People are way more open and willing to share what's going wrong. Does it have the SF ambition? No. But it has a fun drive and energy, and it's easy to surround yourself with people building great businesses without all the BS.
@levelsio@levelsio

The only 2 places where I felt ambition like this are the US and China Nomad hubs like Bali and Thailand are nice but often people there get stuck coasting at $5K MRR because it's just cheaper to live there, so that puts kind of a natural limit on ambition, very quickly you already make "enough" SF/NYC are so ridiculously expensive to live, so you HAVE to make a lot of money, and the high cost of living is a natural filter that keeps only broke but super ambitious or already successful people (and of course nepo babies esp NYC) China is not so much expensive to live, but there's some natural cultural ambition to become #1 in everything that's very infectious

@raymondmarkable that's definitely a part of british culture, but I find entrepreneurs are usually pretty uninterested in all that BS

@lkr Bragging is very looked down upon, but its replaced by this air of aristocracy: who your family is, where you went to school, what social clubs you hang out in, etc... there is just so much pre-judging in london, far more than the US. I find it fucking exhausting.

I am from NY. I could live there. London is much better quality of life IMO. Yes, you pay taxes, private school etc, BUT you also get access to a lot of goodness. I have a 25m bike to my office (by choice I go to an office). I am in 'zone 2' I can be in the woods with no idea you are in a city in 3 directions 15m walking. Also worth nothing; SF is in CA which is not free of problems. SF obvs has some magic but it is also not free of problems. I have plenty of friends who left SF.
