Mother, Woman, No to Scexit, SNP have ruined Scotland

I genuinely sympathize with @RourkeTony - a horrible situation for him, his wife, and family. He mentions endangering life, but I think many ignore how the lives of those protesting could and likely will unfold if demands are not met. What impact will it have on the thousands of families facing business closures? Debt, loss of homes, homelessness, and addiction to escape from reality which all in turn often leads to depression and suicide. It's easy to say this is all about lining their pockets but it isn't. This country has had 20 years of non-stop pounding from FFG and it has pushed society to its very brink. It's a rotten situation all brought about by FFG arrogance and ignorance of working class Irish people.

I am an eternal optimist but Iโm also a realist so as we trundle towards the Scottish elections and all the freebies on offer from our politicians the ask is โ how are you going to pay for them? Speaking of politicians, I am reminded of a brilliant episode of The Thick of It entitled โRise of the Nuttersโ โ a satire on inept politicians making stupid policies Armando Iannucci, a good Scotsman said he couldnโt write any more political satire as the real-life situation couldnโt be funnier; I would add it couldnโt be scarier. Is it just me or are more nutters hoping to get elected into public office, and not just in Scotland but globally? We need to boost our economy and go for growth while attracting the very best into public office. Here are some quick wins for our politiciansโฆ - Housing: Fast track planning, and Section 75 redesign - Quangos bonfire: Reduce the red tape, bureaucracy and duplication - Hospitality and retail: Freeze the rates system - Tax: Level the tax system with England - Oil & gas: Bring forward the Energy Profits Levy, and open up new licenses to explore our North Sea - Business support: Streamline assistance through a one-stop shop And once elected engage with business โ nearly every serious business person I speak to it is โCountry first, Politics secondโ. Take advantage and partner with business; make policies based on factsโฆ Scotland should be booming โ why does it feel like itโs going bust? thetimes.com/uk/scotland/arโฆ
