@hello_late @latimeralder There is and will be no transition. Hydrocarbon fuels still supply the vast bulk of our energy, and will way out into the future. Also oil & gas are not just about electricity, but much more, for which it's physically impossible for wind & solar to provide.

@latimeralder You don't get it 0ver 90 % of the gas has been used. The majority of the gas that remains is not economically viable to drill. Jackdaw will make almost zero difference to our gas imports. (2%) We must transisition fully to renewables.

@hello_late Having our own gas coming down a pipeline is surely better for our energy security than having to rely on international tankers that can get stuck in (eg) the Straits of Hormuz
