@TalkinYanks 0 walks. He’s pounding the zone and as long as he feels good I’m thrilled. Command after TJ is tough and he’s locked into the zone.

Wife and I found an amazing house today on 2 acres of land in a very nice neighborhood. Significant upgrade from our current home/yard/hood. The kiddos want to veto it because they would have to switch elementary schools. They are in 2nd grade and kindergarten. Dad advice?

It’s not a great idea to return Anthony Volpe to SS right now with the way José Caballero is hitting the ball. Hope the Yankees see it that way as well. Volpe hasn’t earned the SS role, and Caballero is hot. The timing isn’t right to make a switch.

Lynn Swann is in the HOF for one reason, he played huge in big games. Why isn’t that the case for Curt Schilling? He has 11 postseason wins that’s fifth all time, and he was the best pitcher on three championship teams. He didn’t even receive enough votes to stay on the ballot.

@rationalyankee If JC Escarra is off the team, Goldschmidt will have a bigger role. If Stanton gets hurt (which is always a possibility), it would open up a lot of playing time for Goldy. It’s probably too early to make full sense of his role.

We do have a good manager. But that’s besides the point. Rosario is the best pinch hitter off the bench for LHP. Goldschmidt is 38, has no defensive versatility and the only position he plays is occupied by Ben Rice. Are the Yankees really going to waste a roster spot all year on a guy who is the second best pinch hitting option for LHP and basically nothing else? Either the Yankees need to still believe that playing Goldschmidt over Rice vs LHP makes the team better, or Goldschmidt isn’t worth carrying on the roster. I think it’s that simple.
Uncle Vegas@UncleVegas777

@rationalyankee If we had a good manager (and we dont) you can make use of a guy like Goldschmidt as a pinch hitter against lefties since we have tons of lefty bats that cant hit them. Example wells up in a big spot in 9th. PH goldy. Insert him at 1b double switch move rice back to C. Etc etc

Giancarlo isn’t just having one bad week. In his eight seasons with the Yankees, he has put up a WAR of 3.0 or more in just two of them. And a WAR of 1.0 or more in only three of them. It’s not just the injuries. It’s directly related to his swing, which in turn is a product of how he compensates for his legs being cooked. He gets hot from time to time, but its not sustainable in the long run. I love G. He did his job in 2024. He earned that ALCS MVP. He came through in the WS. He’s Judge’s #2 in the dugout. I love his attitude and commitment to the Yankee way. But he’s not just having a bad week.

October G 🎃@MVPGiancarlo_

Why is Giancarlo the only player on this team every year that can’t be bad for a week without getting crucified. I feel like everyone should know his highs and lows by now. Also he’s done enough in big time moments to just let him rock..

@bowtiedmeathead When younger we’d do bowling alley, ice rink, etc or party at house w family / friends. Now older just invite a few friends for what they want. My son did lasertron w 3 friends. My daughter had a sleepover w 4 friends. It is a bit excessive at times.

My 12 yr old son went to a bday party the other day for one of his friends in the neighborhood. The party was at Top Golf. About 25 kids give or take. They rented out 4 bays. Tons of food. Everyone had a great time. The previous week he went to a kids party at Dave and Busters. Same deal about 20 kids or so. Maybe I’m a bit old school (and cheap lol) but we never threw a big group friend’s party like that for the kids. We always told them they can invite 3-4 of their friends and we’ll take them out somewhere or we would have the entire family come over for cake and ice cream. Now you got parents out doing one another on these elaborate and expensive bday parties. Maybe it’s just my generation (I’m 46) with everyone trying to be an overachiever, but if you ask me it’s a bit excessive and over the top.

This isn’t impressive, it’s troubling. Giancarlo is swinging the bat so fast because that’s all he can do at this point. His legs are gone. He has no lower body mechanics. No ability to adjust mid-swing (which slows the bat down) to get the barrel on the ball. He just swings hard and guesses where the ball will be.
MLB Nerds@MLBNerds

One of the most impressive things I’ve seen this season: In year 17 on a list where the other 9 player’s average age is just over 24, 36 year old Giancarlo Stanton leads all of MLB in average bat speed.
