@thekatebutch It's one of the best STs of all time, no shame!

This year's #ArtVsArtist round up.
These are some of the street art pieces (plus one canvas) I painted in 2025 just for fun. For my commissioned work (a little less technicolor! :) ) please see @murals_bysarah on insta.
Happy christmas all, and all the best for 2026

@josephkazUK That's my school! But it was called Loughton County High School for Girls when I was there. And we didn't have the orange outhouse.
English

Headmaster: 'Hi there, we're opening a Sixth Form and need a new building for our students.'
Architect: 'Great, I see all the other school buildings are beautiful, well-proportioned and made of redbrick. I assume you want something similar?'
Roding Valley School: 'No. We were thinking multi-story carpark, but MAKE IT ORANGE!!'

@phillipbvaughan @PatMillsComics I had a go, but ny only 2 options seem to be "mark as received" and "view pledge", and when I view the pledge it doesn't give me any option to change it in any way. No problem, let me read issue 1 first and if I love it (likely :) ), I'll buy issue 2 from you directly.
English

@phillipbvaughan @PatMillsComics Ah cool, yes please. I am out at the mo but will see if I can figure it out when I get home.
English

The tone is excellent and quite individual. Its strongest suit is it's a very modern anthology which I think all UK readers like.

@PatMillsComics This sounds right up my street.... thanks for the heads up
English

@Marcus_S_Jones @PatMillsComics Ditto. Except it was my mother who chucked mine. And all my Kerrang magazines! Still not over it.
English

@PatMillsComics Can you add a small notice berating my mother for throwing my collection from #1 in the bin when I left for university? It was some time ago but I like to keep reminding her.

@KurtSupeCPA This happened to my dad aged 63, he had been at the same company his whole working life, worked up from 16yo tea boy to senior manager. It threw him into a deep depression for a couple of years as it was so sudden and unexpected and kinda cold, he was planning to retire at 65.
English

Client was a VP at a large company.
62 years old. Was going to work until 65.
January: called into HR.
Severance package. Sign by Friday.
He called me that afternoon.
"I think I just got retired."
No transition. No goodbye lunch. No plan.
His whole identity was that job.
His social life was those people.
His purpose showed up every morning at 7:45am.
The money was fine. We figured out the money in two meetings.
The identity took a few years.
He told me recently: "The hardest part wasn't losing the job. It was realizing I'd built my whole life inside someone else's building."
Retirement that happens to you hits completely differently than retirement you choose.
Millions of people in their 60s are navigating this right now and nobody is talking about it.

@projecthailmary Rocky you make Sarah cry. Happy tears sad tears all the tears ❤️

@PatMillsComics This sounds right up my street.... thanks for the heads up

@aedison @WackyMatthew91 Who has recently become a dracula, with help from very polite Jason

@mr_james_c @whippletom I always say that I don't know whether I only *think* that late 80s/early 90s music is the best, because of that whole thing about music not hitting the same brain-chemical-wise as you get into your 20s and beyond and all that - but just LOOK at that lil' pile.
English

This is only unfortunate if you weren't blessed by growing up during the golden period of Bon Jovi and Guns n Roses
𐌁𐌉Ᏽ 𐌕𐌉𐌌𐌉@OrevaZSN
Unfortunately, as you get older, you gradually become less interested in new music and keep going back to the old favorite songs you once loved.
English

@EmiGarside This really bothers me, hockey shouldn't be like this. I've attended games all over the UK and all over North America for 20 odd years and I always welcome newbies at my home rink and have been welcomed in turn everywhere else. I will join Megan in the slappin' !
English

@akafaceUS I've been following her on insta for years, her work is amazing. Not rude in the slightest. I hope all this extra publicity gets her more work :)
English

@anxietymsgs Laziness, mainly :) I only ever wear make up for very special occasions, couple of times a year maybe

@johncrickett There is a big difference between 90% of coders using AI and 90% of code written by AI. I code, I write 99% of it myself ( because I have been doing it for a very long time and I'm quick and accurate). Every now and then I might ask copilot to remind me of some syntax...
English

"90% of code is AI-written. More than 90% of devs use AI coding tools."
So who exactly are we still trying to convince to switch? And why are we still trying to convince them?
If those numbers are real, the holdouts are either unemployed, in a niche where it genuinely doesn't apply, or... the stats are wildly overstated.
Pick one.
English

@DillemmaR @jorgeousjack oh I completely agree! but I think they have got themselves in a bind.
English

@implausible17 @jorgeousjack Which isn’t her fault. I don’t believe punishing her bc of that
English

if she doesn’t win this season it’s all but confirmed that a UK queen will always win UK versus TW #DragRaceUK
Drag Base@DragBasee
Do you want Gawdland to snatch the crown? 👑 #TeamGawdland 🇹🇭 #DragRaceUK
English

@DillemmaR @jorgeousjack Agreed. It's got to be GL but Kate has done great, it would just be very bad optics to have 3 UK winners in a row.
English

@jorgeousjack This is an annoying take when Kate actually had done very well it’s not her fault blue and Tia won….. however I am still team Gawdland
