Developers have become the new secrets vault. The biggest supply chain attacks of 2026 didn't start by attacking production. They started by attacking developer laptops. - TanStack - Nx Console - Bitwarden CLI - LiteLLM - durabletask The malware all looked for the same things: ~/.ssh ~/.aws ~/.config/gh .env kubeconfig Terraform credentials AI agent configs The path is now: Developer Laptop → Credentials → Production We're still securing servers like it's 2015. Attackers moved on years ago. @AutomicVault fixes this.

@JeffiniteVC @buddyhadry @AutomicVault It is an important tool but it needs $1M funding mostly to spend so it looks like it is big and impressive. That's what people need nowadays. For this space anyway. Security-assurance should be a pain killer but it's actually a vitamin.

Any idea why there’s that disconnect? Is the added friction too annoying? Speaking as a formerly paranoid but unsophisticated computer user, I’ve learned to “love the bomb” and traded security for convenience. If users had one gripe, what would it be? Inconvenient? Unnecessary? Could you be too early? Is there pivot to be made here? I think you have a lot of be proud of on this. Sometimes a break can be refreshing. But I don’t doubt there is a pivot somewhere that will make this click for a certain kind of user. (Enterprise comes to mind). By all means, take care of yourself!

I think I will give up. I have made a bunch of very interesting things over the last 6 months. But I cannot get any attention for them and don’t know how. My son is 4 and he deserves my time. I'm going to go and get a normal job. My time making things is over I think.

@JeffiniteVC @buddyhadry @AutomicVault Like I talk to Homebrew users every day. I just seemingly don't understand them. They all say they want exactly what Automic Vault does, but they don’t install it or use it. It's a failed project probably. Hence I give up.

If you aren’t talking to these guys, how can you know them? That’s the most glaring disconnect I see here. I often advise founders to hop on a call with 5-10 customers or potential customers and ask them directly what makes their life difficult in this arena. The answers might not be what you expect! But even if they are, you might learn other things that are helpful. Often, then non-scalable, unsexy stuff is what’s provided the most valuable info! Distribution becomes easier when the customer is your evangelist. So how can we get them there? Worth exploring! If you ever need a sounding board or someone to commiserate with, I’m here for you. You’re doing something hard!

@asaio87 If you admit this all you are actually admitting is you suck at managing people and/or agents.

Nobody wants to admit it but "vibecoding" works until your app has actual users. Then you discover what senior engineers have been getting paid for.

@jacobrodri_ So instead of paying 30% to Apple they pay 30% to visa+square+customer-service-for-refunds. Genius strategy. Tell me more.

This app for learning to read is making $600k/mo, avoiding apple’s 30% cut with a web funnel: - Without web funnel = $420,000/mo - With web funnel = $600,000/mo They integrated it using FunnelFox

All 60 million Homebrew users *should* use Automic Vault. At least if they care about not getting owned next time the `npm install` anyway. So I know my customer. I just seemingly have no clue anymore how to talk to them. I guess I should have added a mandatory email sign up form the first time you did `brew install`. lol.

@buddyhadry It's disheartening that genuinely useful things I build get no attention and then this depression induced emotional content goes viral. Yes. Worst thing: 130k views and 2 new users for @AutomicVault. How is one meant to market nowadays? Genuinely I do not understand.

@levelsio It's not absurd to think this way. The satellites we know of are small. These new things will need to be huge to dissipate the heat. Don't act like you have known this forever—we both know you only just learned about how this was going to work like the rest of us.

I can't believe how many people are there that think this You add giant panels to radiate the heat out with high-emissivity coatings, pointed at deep space You have a lot of space in space to do this!
Wayne@staleshare

We need datacenters in space, but I'm still waiting on a good explanation of how the heat is exhausted Heat can only be expelled via radiation in space, convection and conduction don't work in a vacuum. (ME potential, but not a long-term solution) Please link me to a good explanation.

re coding agent security: ideally any security related approval should not live in the harness, and should only rely on harness data if there is a backwards compatible, deterministic contract the harness will adhere to
