@mehdirhasan How about people like you stop declaring our ancestors will hate us if we don’t agree with you. The world aggressivley forgets almost everyone. People who have a tenuous grasp on the present believing they speak for the future is getting old.

@IAmPoliticsGirl The Cuban communists called this Acts of Repudiation, publicly shaming political enemies to marginalize them and make them feel isolated. Great role model.
I’ll stick with love your neighbor as yourself, but thanks for the weird kitchen rant.
English

@cenkuygur @jaketapper I tend to disagree with you a lot, but you are on point with this. Someone with proximity to power lobbing out a threat like that is crazy.
English

So far, not one mainstream media outlet has reached out to ask me about Katie Miller's threat to denaturalize and deport me. Do you think they would have reacted the same way if she made that threat to a cable news anchor like @jaketapper? Maybe they don't mind if it's one of us.
English

@DavidAFrench There is anti-Semitism on both sides right now. Our nation is a moral vacuum being filled with the worst kind of stereotyping and rage baiting imaginable. Throwing around ambiguous terms like far right and far left doesn’t help. Anti-Semitism is evil. Full stop. From anyone.
English

Ten years ago, many of us started warning about the rise of the alt-right, and we were told to shut up and focus on the left.
Well now anti-Semitism, racism, and conspiracies are exploding all over the right (especially with young Republicans), with some of the biggest voices in America amplifying the most grotesque bigotry.
There are no dog whistles any longer, only bullhorns. Some folks on the right are finally waking up and realizing that their obsessions with the woke left blinded them to the monsters in their midst.
I hope it's not too late.

@AOC The fact you think this is funny shows how ignorant you are of how gifted an athlete has to be and how hard they have to work to achieve that level of success. Such a tone deaf and clueless attempt at a cheap laugh at the expense of another woman’s accomplishments. What a hero

Maybe if you channeled all this anger into swimming faster you wouldn’t have come in fifth.

We're being destroyed from within

@CAgovernor Remember when California filled in skate parks with sand to punish kids for going outside to play during Covid shutdowns? Those were good times.
English

@SenWarren If only there was someone directly involved who did more than call for the return of the hostages like everyone else on earth. Maybe someone who negotiated the deal that we could acknowledge. That would be really cool.
English

For two excruciating years, I have called for the return of the hostages brutally kidnapped on October 7th and held in Gaza.
Today is a good day. Surviving Israeli hostages are finally home and reuniting with loved ones. I'm thinking of them and their families on this joyful day and praying for their full recovery. I'm also grieving for all those who can't come home today.
Today must also be an important step toward lasting peace in the region — peace for both Israelis and Palestinians. We must end the war in Gaza, surge humanitarian aid, and negotiate a two-state solution now.

Hamas released all 20 remaining living hostages held in Gaza on Monday, as part of a cease-fire pausing two years of war that saw Israelis kill thousands of Palestians. trib.al/yqqBucN

@DefiantLs Very important distinction, NOT people with hundreds of millions of dollars like his friends. Just the billionaires. Got it. Billionaires are the boogey men. Not garden variety 100 millionaires. They are just average joes.
English

@DavidAFrench Yes there is violence on both sides, but right now we are talking about people committing murders because they think they are leftwing heroes fighting Nazis. Where did they get that idea? And why are so many people happy about?
English

The narrative that political violence is only a problem on one side is so fantastically divorced from reality that you shouldn't take seriously any person who advances it. The evidence that extremists on the left and right have engaged in violence and threats of violence is so abundant that it takes malice or willful ignorance to dismiss it.
English

@ManhattanDA @SenatorRJackson @CnDelarosa @Brides_March @assemblymanalt1 So you’re corrupt. Got it. An attack on camera eliminates simple incompetence, so political corruption it is.
English

I was wrong, and I apologize. I have deleted the post.
Defiant L’s@DefiantLs
I'd say Stephen King should be ashamed of himself, but what's the point?
English

@alluring_nyc So you are a liar. Got it. His yelling like that at Cenk Uygur was not cool but not what you claim it is.
English

@cenkuygur Advocate for your issues with all the passion you can muster but don’t let your passion turn you into a monster. We believe our ideas are best for everyone, so the people we arguing with are also the people we are arguing for. I appreciate your viewpoint.
English

A while back I put out these rules for the internet. 1. When we disagree, we fight. 2. We have a beer afterward. 3. When we agree, we unite. I got a lot of flack, surprisingly, for the line about the beer. People would ask, "Oh yeah, would you have a beer with Charlie Kirk?!"
Well, I did. And I'm glad I did, because now I won't get to. Yes, Charlie and I disagreed a lot and about really important things. But somehow we didn't lose our humanity. We were still fellow Americans.
We can all choose to hate each other now. That's a normal, human reaction. We can choose to blame each other, and I'm sure we will, endlessly. Or we can defy the voices of division in the country, and have a beer together. This time, in grief.
If you really want to strike back at whoever did this, listen to each other instead of hating one another. They want us to hate each other. Treating one another as brothers and sisters, as a united America, would be a historic act of defiance.
Since I'm on the left, I'll go first. For everyone on the right, and most especially the Kirk family, I am so sorry for your loss. I share your grief and I want you to know our hearts are with you!
English

@DavidAFrench No politics. No points. Just grieving where we are.
English

Political violence is evil. I don't care how angry you are at your opponents. We have a ballot box. We have courts. We have free speech. I'm sick with grief for Charlie and his family. I'm sick with concern for this country.
David French@DavidAFrench
Absolutely horrible. Praying for Charlie and everyone there.
English

@StephenKing Were you always this horrible, or did I just miss it when I was younger because I loved your books? Act like you saw a human being murdered for disagreeing with someone else’s political views rather than being a narcissist spinning tragedy for your narrative you twit.
English

@DavidAFrench Who? Who is bing silent out of fear? Lots of Christians? They? Who are we talking about? I know people who just don’t live online and have no more interest in wasting time fighting with hateful Trump supporters than they did hateful progressives. Not scared. Just not interested
