I think ABC Australia should issue an apology for broadcasting this hate speech by Hillel Newman. Newman can say this hate speech because he's immune to prosecution, but regular Australian citizens no longer have the freedom to say the same.
stranger@strangerous10
Hillel Newman has justified Israel’s new laws applying the death penalty only to Palestinians, saying it’s because Palestinians are “deranged” & “the usual punishment is no deterrent” — Horrifying the broadcast is allowed to go on. This man is sick. #auspol

@StevenJMiles When our politicians care more about taking pot shots at their opponents, than taking care of the people and country they were elected to represent.
English

@MurrayWatt Does anyone feel like their quality of life is improving under Labor?
English

@ClareONeilMP When the government is more worried about the opposition parties than actually governing.
Maybe you should step aside so someone else can govern, and you can focus all your energies on taking pot shots
English

@JEChalmers Do you feel better about yourself?
Good.
Because this law does only that. It doesn't solve any problems that the Australian Taxpayer is paying you to solve.
If you're not willing to solve the problem, maybe you should get out of the way, for someone who will try!

We’ve just introduced new legislation into Parliament to help consumers get a fair go at the petrol pump with bigger penalties for false and misleading conduct and cartel behaviour.
We’re putting petrol companies on notice. We won’t cop big corporates treating Australian motorists like mugs.

@ClarksonsFarm1 "One For The Road" was the most emotional episode I've ever watched.
English

Its great that we've got a union-friendly @AustralianLabor government. Imagine the chaos if we didn't...

@lucasgarth It'd be an opportunity for political one-upmanship.
The A does truly stand for Australian.
While the N still stands for NSW.
English

@jpk82 Would be similar if Storm could play a home GF but would rarely happen because of low capacity Marvel of low 50s
English

@lucasgarth Yes, however the AFL has already moved to a model where TV viewership is more important than physical attendance, so for ~50k people it would matter, but for ~3M TV viewers, it makes very little difference.
English

@jpk82 If GF moves, would like at least 15k supporter seats reserved for travelling teams, which is what MCG can offer
MCC and AFL memberships would need reducing in price considerably too.
Would rule out Sydney in the long term
Brisbane only when it gets to 60+
Adelaide and Perth OK
English

@lucasgarth Every team should play in every city at least once per year.
All teams should also be guaranteed at least 1 game at the MCG.
Or, here's the controversial option: move the GF. Top ranked team hosts, with 1 week bye prior, for full team and ground preparation.
English

@jpk82 Yep
To make it fair you need 14 home games for WA teams and every Melb teams to go there twice (all sorts of issues if Freo and WC never play at Marvel or the MCG though)
English

@lucasgarth 100%
Most Vic teams would still play 10-12 games at their nominated home ground, and another 3-6 at the other grounds in Vic, so still sleeping in their own beds each night, and not flying.
But the difference for WA teams would be significant!
English

@jpk82 Not just travel though, the chance for teams to get to see matches live
Though surely non Vic teams playing 12 home matches and each Vic team having an extra away game is a no brainer
English

@lucasgarth I don't mind this idea. Anything that helps reduce the travel burden on clubs that are disadvantaged by geography, is a good thing.
English

@jpk82 Could make r2 a round for within state rivalries (give Tas the bye!) - derby, showdown, bridge, Q clash
Shot in arm for all non Vic to have 2 matches to start the year with no travel
English

@lucasgarth As an Eagles man, I'm actually ok with my team travelling in the first week, its not as though they need a break from strenuous work the week before.
I dislike that OR gives teams that already have a low travel burden, an extra week break during the season
English

@jpk82 Would love all non Vic + Geelong (replaced with Tas) to play at home against a Melbourne team as Round 1 - confirming we are the national game
Then launch into Richmond v Carlton at the MCG first match of R2 and the anticipation for a Melbourne launch would be massive
English

@RalphyHeraldSun There should be no need for byes.
These are professionals in a (supposedly) professional organisation. Manage players and game time, don't give some a week off without giving everyone the same benefit.
English

Melbourne’s young side has to wait until round 16 for their only bye while the Hawks have perfectly-placed byes in round 3 and round 14. Two byes before the Demons get one
Fox Footy@FOXFOOTY
"After tomorrow night, Hawthorn has 18 days off! What is that about?!" #AFL360's Garry Lyon questions the early-season weeks off for the Opening Round teams - and the eight byes across the season.
English

@AFL 9 teams have played two games before @WestCoastEagles have even started their first, which makes no sense for the most travelled team in the league. That's not fair that's f*****
