Everyone shouts "Tax the Rich"... but look at the facts. A $150k earner pays around $30,600 in federal tax. A $25k earner pays about $1,200. It takes 25 people on $25k to contribute what one person on $150k does. So why drive high earners out of the U.S. when they already shoulder most of the burden? The problem isn't how much tax is collected. The problem is how much the government wastes. Stop blaming the rich. Start holding the government to account.

@kyilaw1 @UziCryptoo The marginal tax rate for someone earning $1B yearly is 37%. For states with an income tax like California, that rate can go up to over 50%. It’s not right.

@UziCryptoo I don't support increasing taxes, but I don't think people are complaining about the tax rate on someone making $150,000 when they say tax the rich. Using your numbers, that person is paying 20.4% in taxes, which is higher than the 20% rate paid by billionaires.

Three months ago today, a war began that no one voted for — and the cost has been paid by people who had no say in it. Thousands of civilians have lost their lives. Thirteen U.S. servicemembers will never come home to their families. Americans across this country and our city have watched prices rise at the pump and the grocery store, their budgets strained by a conflict launched without a single vote of Congress. Every life lost abroad and every dollar squeezed from a working family here is part of the same reckless bill, handed to the people who could least afford it by those who will never pay it themselves. I opposed this war from the first day. I oppose it still. It must end.

Snappy line but TVs don’t need fire departments, road repairs, or 911 response. Property taxes fund the services that protect and add value to the home itself. The real issue isn’t whether property taxes should exist, it’s that Florida’s system is broken for anyone without Save Our Homes protection. Non-homesteaded owners, snowbirds, and investors are getting hammered with double-digit assessment jumps while homesteaded neighbors next door pay a fraction. Fix the inequity, cap runaway assessments, and reform how millage rates get set. Abolishing property tax entirely just shifts the burden to sales tax, which hits working Floridians hardest. Reform yes, eliminate no.

I was recently asked about my thoughts on the use of marijuana, and here is what I said: I really don't care if you smoke it, eat it, or use it as a suppository. However, I draw the line at marketing or selling it to kids. Additionally, don’t use it and then operate a vehicle, as that puts your life and others' lives at risk. The natural aspect of it represents liberty and freedom. My concern lies with those who want to synthesize it to make it more addictive or potent.

@ChrisMartzWX It's a simplistic way of looking at what he did. Yes he did that. But he was also the president that helped free 70 million people in Europe and Asia from Nazi Germany and Imperial Japan. He's helped free entire nations with US forces. That is huge weight on the other scale.

The FDR worship is pure brainwashing from public school. • He was effectively a socialist. • He gets too much credit for getting us out of the Great Depression. Arguably, his polices made it worse; the war is what got the economy booming. • FDR is the father of our modern senior welfare state since he signed the Social Security Act of 1935 into law. It is now an unsustainable Ponzi scheme that hurts young working class people. • His New Deal turned the U.S. federal government into a permanent jobs program, making it the largest employer. His policies are largely what has led to inefficient and bloated bureaucracy. • The FDR administration confiscated people’s gold. • He ordered Japanese Americans into internment camps. • And, he attempted, albeit failed to pack the Supreme Court when he didn’t get his way. Moving on. . . John Adams was an instrumental founding father, but he was not a great president. He had his critics arrested with the Alien and Sedition Acts, which outlawed criticism of his policies. He was a highly tempered man that had a very chaotic management style. The only good to come out of his presidency was the Treaty of Mortefontaine, which ended the Quasi-War in 1800. Abraham Lincoln also violated the First Amendment by suspending the writ of habeas corpus. He was a decent President, especially since he oversaw the end of slavery, but that wasn’t his original goal at the start of his first term, which was to preserve the union, even if it meant that slaves weren’t freed. The rest of the “hall of famer” column isn’t bad, but James Madison didn’t really do much good or bad. His leadership during the War of 1812 was good; he was the last sitting President to face combat firsthand. But he didn’t manage it well; we had a lot of losses. The true hero of that war was Andrew Jackson at the Battle of New Orleans. Don’t even get me started on the rest of the list…

@benonwine I can to a point. It’s OK to believe differently, but when it becomes a focal point of their entire persona (Springsteen, Mellencamp, etc.) and they are overtly political, it becomes tiresome.

I can’t deny it… Bruce Springsteen has made some absolutely incredible music that I absolutely love! 🎸 But honestly, I find his politics so distasteful now that it genuinely kind of ruins it for me. Can you separate the artist from their politics?

Rain or Shine Centennial High School in Franklin, TN held graduation on the football field in heavy pouring rain, soaking students and families. Despite the forecast, no indoor backup was used. Diplomas stayed dry in plastic, but the chaotic ceremony drew frustration and backlash from parents.
