@raroque @matttli It’s definitely doable, but it’s not for everyone or every product.
In my case I was an iOS dev and had it as a side hustle for ~4yrs. I learned to do the main roles (design, data, product, marketing…) and I was very conservative to start to work on it full time and to hire.

Duolingo does amazing on this tricky balance
I've learned the hard way the short term bet on the former harms the latter...

@Thomasbcn @jansenniklas @ncsh @CrowXU To be clear I do agree with you that is very rare to be product led and not be social, maybe Duolingo is the best example (I’d exclude strava and such since they’re pretty social). It usually comes with a big handicap for complementing with paid ua.

Consoles don't give sucj split, and whatever your MMP says is at best worth sharing in investors reports, but internal conversations show a radically different perspective...

@Thomasbcn @jansenniklas @ncsh @CrowXU Right… there really is no way besides checking what happens when we turn off paid, and even then there’s a big organic chunk that comes from the paid user’s word of mouth.
But even if attribution was missing 50% of conversions we’d still be there
