So this happened! 😱 @playpokpok is on @TIME's list of the 100 Most Influential Companies of 2025! I still can't comprehend that we're on a list alongside of icons like @OpenAI, Berkshire Hathaway, @Nintendo—and inspiring, life-changing start-ups like Bobbie, @ouraring and @function. Please pinch me! Our work that started as *literal scribbles* on paper has now made Pok Pok one of the most decorated digital children’s brands in the world. Over the last 5 years we worked like crazy to make impact and build the business and push the boundaries and, and, AND.... And then the day-to-day takes over. The long nights, the hard conversations, the expensive set-backs...and it can be so easy to lose the big picture. But, this week I looked back on everything we've done so far as a company—and only then did I *actually realize* everything we've done so far as a company. We’re not just making kids’ content—we’re reimagining it. Pok Pok is leading a movement toward smarter, calmer, more creative digital experiences. Content that kids genuinely love and learn from—and that parents finally feel REALLY good about. No buzzwords or nonsense. Just real play and learning like we had when we were kids. And in true start-up fashion, we're forever just getting started. First with our app, and now with our YouTube channel—and neither are anywhere near complete. We still have a lot of dreams to still bring to life, and we hope you’ll keep following our journey and keep trusting us to help you raise our next generation of creative thinkers. But first—to our fantastic team, beautiful community of Pok Pok families and everyone who's ever felt guilty or afraid of screens—THANK YOU. The new @SubClubHQ GPT is 🔥. I got fed up with the limitations of @CustomGPT and switched to @WriteSonic’s Botsonic product. Still need to figure out how to get the Sub Club community (hosted on @circleapp) in there as well as some RSS feeds, but it’s already quite useful.

I learned these lessons the hard way so you don’t have to. As for the future of Disco, it’s unclear what the debt provider will do the business. On the bright side, these learnings have catalyzed significant change in my life as I’ve reflected on this experience. I will soon be ready to lace up and try my luck at the entrepreneurial game once again. In the meantime, I want to take this important moment to thank everyone who supported me on this rollercoaster of an adventure with Disco: Investors, advisors, friends, customers, and of course, the Disco team. Disco (@letsdiscoskin), the skincare brand I’ve worked on for 4+ years, filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy on November 16th. This unfortunate outcome left shareholders with nothing, disbanded our great team, thousands of subscribers were left out to dry, and countless vendors were not paid. Shutting Disco down resulted in the loss of millions of investor capital from friends, family, close connections, and funds I respect and trust. A few key decisions led to our downfall. Below are some reflections on what went wrong at Disco, with the intention of helping other founders avoid the same mistakes.
