@lead_lined_box Yes, if you don’t count massively reducing Iranian military capability.

@ratlpolicy This is also rapidly becoming a classic case of political self-delusion (over-emphasizing tactical success over strategic ones), very similar to the phenomenon that led to escalation during the Vietnam War.

If anything, this has been one of the most successful single months of military operations in modern world history. Don't trust the media lies here. And don't trust those who lied about this when they claim to be telling the truth elsewhere.

This is a perfect example of the media's push to label this war a disaster, despite the truth being the opposite. They so badly need this to fail that they're denying reality & pretending that it's neutral analysis. I explained this phenomenon here 👇 rationalpolicy.com/p/an-imaginati…

A month of bombing Iran has achieved nothing. Will Donald Trump escalate, or talk? For now, at least, the advantage lies with the Islamic Republic. Register for free to learn why econ.st/4bPYtXk

@ratlpolicy Tactical successes mean nothing without a viable strategy. Airpower had not only failed to dislodge the regime but is more hardline and nationalistic than it was previously. Furthermore, they now control 20% of the world's oil supply.

@eliram @ProfessorPape For the current air campaign from a militarily tactical point of view, yes. From an economic, energy, political and strategic point of view, no.

@ProfessorPape This mainly shows how successful the current war is in terms of minimizing damages and losses for Israel and the US. Interesting.

Lavrov says many Gulf states denying US use of their airspace to bomb Iran. Major indicator that Iran’s horizontal escalation strategy is starting to fracture the US coalition:

Ben Shapiro: let’s discuss this. When was the last time US outlasted a foe in a long war in the Middle East or Asia? Vietnam? No. Afghan Taliban? No. Notice the pattern: escalation favors Iran.

@ProfessorPape @benshapiro @megynkelly It's real simple, booboo. The US and Israel are going to kill all the members of this evil regime and free the people of Iran. Weak men like you should shut up, sit down, and learn why history only remembers the leaders who are brave and courageous.

@2858292747A @ProfessorPape Even if that's the case, it was very clear from the outset that there was very little enthusiasm for this from certain members of the GCC. Probably Kuwait, Qatar and Oman

@ProfessorPape He was most likely referring too Kuwait, Oman and Qatar, whom oppose escalation. Saudi Arabia and Bahrain are more likely to go on.

@MaxAbrahms Actually, it's quite clear. The United States has failed strategically and has only created a more hardline regime who now controls 20% of the world's oil supply. Tactical wins mean nothing if there's no long-term strategy or viable political dimension.

@icythedragon @GlobeEyeNews It’s just a distraction tactic for the media and his opponents to scrutinise over. Trump often does these things when he’s either: a) Facing legal issues b) Doing something from behind the scenes c) Draw attention away from someone/something else.

@EmpTigerstar No, it’s a decisive rejection of the current institutional system (technocracy) in the United States that has been present since 1945. These run in eighty year cycles and it’s now approached the end of it’s run.

@AllanLichtman Hi Allan, I still hold your keys up in high regard. I think what happened was one of the rare cataclysmic events that highlights and incoming institutional change (it has only happened three times, 1783, 1865 and 1945).
